Their Royal Red Robin burger is bomb! Nothing beats a bacon cheeseburger, except a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg on it!

so its like breakfast and lunch combined at once!

Red robin is good. little expensive to take the kids though.

This. We have several 5 guys in my area now and they all have different prices. The one in upscale city is more $$$ than the one in Southfield $$ a few stones throw away from Les Gold's American Jewelry and Loan. Not to mention the last time we went out to Mcds which we almost never do anymore it was not much cheaper than going to 5 guys.

my 2 kids want normal meals (and eat them) at mcdonalds. it cost me around $20

if we go to 5 guys i get out for about the same price and the burgers are made exactly how they want.

though it helps getting a small fry and feeding all 3 of us heh.

My problem with Red Robin is they charge top dollar for their food, and it tastes like cardboard. BLAND meat, overloaded toppings, mushy buns, blah fries...I went there for lunch and got a burger, fries, and shake and it was $17.

There's a lot of "gastro-pubs" opening around here that serve fantastic burgers with interesting toppings. I'll probably never go to RR again.

Five Guys is worth it if you use the toppings like the grilled mushrooms. I wish they would add avocado as a topping to.

You can get all the ingredients in black by just saying "everything" or something like that. Thats the best way.

I like five guys, and yes they are expensive. Don't get cheese or a drink. You can get a great burger for a little over $5. They overcharge for drinks ($2 medium) and fries (bloody murder).

Its not really a place to bring the family or girlfriend because they'll get a drink and fries and It'll be like $10/person. Its a good place to bring a dude friend if they are paying for themselves and you can just get a burger.

Exactly this. I'm not sure why Five Guys gets so much love, when they can't even be bothered to season their patties. Ground beef is just so bland if you don't use any salt and spices.

You can dress that turd up, but it's still bland as hell.

Fries for me has really been a mixed bag. I've eaten at Five Guys three times, and one time the fries were well seasoned and crispy. The other two times, they came out of the fryer soggy (sign of the oil temp being too low) and way oversalted.

Even with everything its bland. It seems like their only form of salt on a burger is the bacon. I also hate the Five Guys bun. Maybe I'm too spoiled by how perfect the bun from In-n-Out is, but man.. that bun is horrible.

I didnt find the burger to be bland. It was really juicy and had a lot of flavor. All I had on it was cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce. But I like a simple burger without all the extra seasonings some people but on it.

I prefer Five Guys burgers to IN N Out, but I much prefer INO because the value is so much greater with INO.

See, I just can't eat a mound of beef without any sort of seasoning. At the bare minimum, it should be seasoned with salt. If you want to get fancy, you can mix in some paprika, onion, smoke flavorings, or whatever. It doesn't mess with the integrity of the beef flavor, it just further enhances it.

But apparently a lot of people like unseasoned beef.

I don't remember what entails "everything," but I do generally like my burgers with bacon, lettuce, pickles, onions and mustard (or mayo). The bacon honestly was overcooked, and the rest doesn't add that much flavor anyway.

I like them both about equal. like protein style (lettuce wrapped) at in and out. When I ask for lettuce wrapped burger at 5 guys, the workers don't understand.

I like Five Guys. They're pricey, but the burgers are great. In diameter they're small, but you're getting two patties, and I've never felt less than full after eating one. Also, you can buy one small fry for three people.

The wife and I ate there last week for the first time and I thought it was pretty good. I dont see why everybody says that it is super greasy and what not. My burger seemed to be perfect and same with the fries. I did like the amount of fries I got too.

They are simply saying what the company wants them to say. They dump the fries in the bag by aiming at a cup that can't even hold half that amount specifically because they want the greasy bag look. It's also why you get a bag no matter if eating in or taking out.

Agreed. Fries weren't bad when I went but the burger sucked. Not much better than McDonalds IMO. You can't fry burgers and expect them to come out good. Not without spices anyway. A proper burger should really be cooked over charcoal or at bare minimum an open flame.

Just to name a few

The Haven burger is still my favorite. Slater's was pretty good, though I was probably enjoying the Guinness milkshake more. I've heard good things about Father's Office. A double-double from In-n-Out is still a staple for me. As far as Red Robin, I like their 'shroom burger and Royal Red Robin. Can't argue with the fried egg and unlimited fries.

I'm not very impressed with Five Guys. The bacon cheeseburger looked great, but after I finished it, it felt like something was missing. There wasn't much memorable flavor. I expected more from a $10 meal.
