Five Guys is the 2010 version of Fat Burger, while it's much better than Fat Burger it's still highly overrated. People use to carry on and on and on and on and on about how delicious and awesome Fat Burger was. And not surprisingly both are very expensive. For the people saying Five Guys isn't expensive. I can get an Ultimate Bacon Cheese Burger combo at JITB for under 7 bucks, and that's 1/2lb of meat with 4 strips of bacon.

I wonder why I don't hear about how kick ass Fat Burger is any more, and I wonder how long until people shut the fuck up about Five Guys. In N Out has been raved about for over 5 decades now, it's the real deal and ain't going nowhere.

I dunno. I tried Fat Burger when it came to my town about 6 years ago and hated it right away. I've never gone back. I liked the burger well enough but it was horribly overpriced for what it was. Five guys on the other hand is slightly cheaper (at least here) but provides a better burger and way more food (huge order of fries).

We don't have Five Guys here, but I fail to see how it could be better than NZ born Burger Fuel.

edit: OK saw the picture above, looks disgusting. Americans have poor taste in food.

OK so I do a google image search for five guys burgers - it looks like they're just trying to cram as much meat and cheese between two pieces of low-quality bread as possible. I can see why Americans would vote it number 1, but it looks absolutely foul.

Five Guys - yet more evidence of Americans' poor taste in food.

Wow what's that a 1oz patty? That looks like fail

Here in NZ we don't believe that just because you're eating fast food you should eat half a cow, plus its cheese production for 12 months.

edit: BTW it's 1/3 of a pound. I don't know how to convert between caveman units, so you do the maths for me.

That looks to be the same amount of beef McDonald's puts on their burger. If you can't taste the beef than what's the point?

Huh? You can taste the beef in these burgers. Maybe you have trouble because the taste of cheese and BBQ sauce overwhelms it.

The superior burger - Burger Fuel in NZ.

wtf is a malt shake? Why does it look like there are sesame seeds on the bottom of the burger? Why is the bread 2x as big as the meat it's holding?

Mah bestest friend work at McDicks, so I know this one :D
1/3 of a pound is the meat used on the Angus burgers.

McDonalds angus burger:

It looks really big because the bread is too fucking small.

Five guys has nice fries, at least they have the ONLY fast food fries not fried in canola oil.

Their 'regular' size fries are more like 2 to 3 servings, that mitigates the cost.

False, Chic-Fil-A fries their fries in Peanut Oil, as do a few other places I can't remember off the top of my head.

No Chic-Fil-A in the Northeast.

ETA: Looks like I spoke to soon, they have opened 2 Chik-Fil-As in MA, just nowhere nearby. They're in Peabody & Burlington.

Ok but that doesn't mean there aren't fast food places that fry things in something other than Canola Oil.

I haven't found any others near me in SE MA, wish I could. I'm deathly allergic to canola, nearly died from it twice.

looks pretty good, although terribly out of proportion.

I'm guessing you mean it needs more meat, cheese and BBQ sauce. This is an American thing. We enjoy a balance of ingredients because we're not American.

Balance of ingredients means it either needs more of everything else cus there's so much bun or less bun.
