here's the thing--they only put it on there if you want it. HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

and I also only get bowls now. Burrito is just too much.

I actually like these threads. I alerts me to the idiots who bitch about stuff like that and the fact I can automatically ignore everything else they ever say on anything.

Really? Hell, usually when I finish my chicken burrito I am going through the calculus to see if I could possibly eat a second one. I'm pretty sure in most cases I could.

Although it does seem like Chipotle has changed their chicken recently to something less awesome than it used to be.

Five guys sucks, they sell you a 14$ pile of grease with some beef on the side. Also their fries are basically the worst i have eve rhad, it tastes like they soak them in toilet water before giving them to the customer, they are so soggy and disgusting.

Chipoltes is OK once in a while, but if you have it too often you will get sick of the lime flavoring they add to EVERYTHING. Id give five guys a 0/10 and chipoltes a 5/10.

Subway is better than both......

I frequently see people ordering at Chipotle saying "more...more...more...OK. That's good." -- while the employee is adding meat to their burrito. I look at those people with disdain...but it seems like Chipotle employees will accommodate such a request.

Funny. You obviously understand that at Subway you can demand a sandwich to be constructed to your exact specifications, but can't possibly believe you can do the same at Chipotle. Never mind that their serving line is virtually identical in setup, just with different ingredients. Nope, let's just say something sucks even though it is virtually identical to what you think is an ideal food vendor. Odd.

Food prep depends 75/25 on attitude of preparer and quality of ingredients. I think the attitude is the most important. I have had many meals where the beginnings were of poor quality but the "chef" made it interesting.

Love the fries. Burgers are good but similar to what you'd get by grilling your own. Did see a story recently about them talking about how their sales pace had reduced dramatically and price seemed to be a top reason. Having recently gone by I'd tend to agree.

Weird, I've never had any issue with the amount of meat from Chipotle. I usually get half chicken and half pork and there is a tonne of meat on there. I only ever get bowls though, so can't comment on how an actual burrito works.

KT

He's trying to start something, don't fall for it. Nobody would ever claim subway is superior in this situation unless they were trying to start an internet brawl.

I'd ignore him

Weird

Around here they load the bowls up more than the burritos, which is good because it's easier to split into two meals. If you don't get rice though it's probably less filling.

Funny thing I noticed about Chick-Fil-A is that every single one I've ever been to has been staffed only with cute cheerleader-type white teenage/highschool girls. And I know it isn't just the location either, because if you go to any other fast food joint on the same strip they're all staffed by a mix of fat dumpy people, minorities and older folks.

Methinks Chick-Fil-A has a hiring profile standard. Which wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The two CFAs by me don't fit that profile. Both have people of various races and genders but across the board they are all unfailingly cheerful, helpful and polite. At the one in the mall, I've seen more than once where they spontaneously offer to bring the order out to a table in the food court when the customer was in a wheelchair, looked like they would have difficulty carrying a bag or tray, or burdened with an armful of shopping bags. They'll also ask "Do you want straws, ketchup, salt or pepper? Extra napkins?"There are a dozen other food joints in the food court and I don't see any of the others doing that.

Of course, the day will come when somebody will be offended by that somehow.

i'm in the UK so .. some differences.

five guys is famous on the interwebz for the "dayum" video, so when i saw they had opened one in london, i went to try it.

new shop, extremely busy. take-away style, different look than but essentially same modus operandi as macdonald.

took 1 step towards the door, saw the board that says "burger: £8.50".

thats the end of my five guys experience.

and no, you can't convert that to dollars. here you can get a pint of guinnes and a burger with chips, salad and sauces for £4.99. a takeaway burger joint will do a double quarter pounder for £3.00 and macdonalds has the cheeseburger down to £1.

£8.50 is what you pay for a handmade burger of top class grass fed beef in a posh gastro-bistro.

0/10 do not want

Back. WTF. 2 adults a 10 year old and an 8 year old. $40.

Seriously. WTF.

It was a better burger than my past meals but i seriously think this place is severely overpriced. And the fries are not that good. Whoever thinks that they are good has never had good fries.

The one near me has someone walking around asking if you want refills or pick up you trash. I've had nothing but excellent service from CFA. And the spicy chicken sandwich/biscuit is freaking awesome. Not a huge fan of their coffee though.

I don't remember there being 5 Guys hype...

In & Out - not THAT is hyped.

In N Out isn't hype though, I constantly hear people raving about how good Five Guys is. Go on Yelp and look up both, 3 maybe 3 1/2 stars average for Five Guys. In N Out's will have 4 & 4 1/2 star average reviews across the board. Hype is when a place is talked about endlessly, but doesn't live up to the hype. 2 Perfect examples are Five Guys & Buffalo Wild Wings. I understand both are stupidly popular and stay crowded. But both suck as fat as reviews go. It confuses me how a place can get so many low reviews on a constant basis, but stay so busy. BWW is the worst offender, it stays jam packed, but I swear every one I look up on Yelp's either 2 or 2 1/2 stars with 200+ reviewers shitting on it.

lolololol. I had 2 burgers fries and a shake yesterday for $11.

I think the people complaining about the pricing are full of shit or ordering a bunch of food / soda they throw away. Sure, if you buy a double cheeseburger, a large fry and a large drink it is like $15. But, nobody needs that much shit to stuff down their pie hole.

What did you order? Did you go with a large fry and share it with everyone? Some people tend to order the cheeseburger thinking it's like McDonald's burger.

Buffalo Wild Wings is crap. They're only so popular because it's basically the last sports bar chain around. I bought their sauce once and got a giant bag of wings at CostCo and made better wings at home.

for me, the tortilla does it. I don't know why, but that thing just sits in my stomach and makes me feel icky.

This.

Clean cut. Polite without exception. Men and women. All races. Most are very young. Some upper-middle age people too. If I eat inside, they walk BY The table occasionally and ask if I want them to refill my drink, or ask if I need salt/ketchup/napkins/etc.

Orders are extremely precise. Most fast food in the my town, it's nearly impossible to get an order right. It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but it's almost impossible to get an order filled properly at any other fast food place in town...no matter how simple the order. That's just the way fast food is here. CFA is the opposite. In all the years I've been there, they've only gotten it "wrong" one time when I didn't get a straw. That's amazing!
