Fito-Lay Strike

Really, it's time for a resurgence in Unions. Freaking Ann Randian capitalists don't give a f*ck about their employees.

Yes, but then Democrats true form would show of their dismay of unions and legacy of crushing them.

Plus you have all the "progressive businesses" like Target that after being raided, destroyed, and looted by BLM protests - they gladly donated a million dollars to BLM the next day because it keeps the peasants fighting amongst the peasants - all the while the elites continue to laugh at you.

Same goes for Amazon. They will gladly do virtue signaling online with front-page banners of Black Lives Matter - but when it comes to a vote for a union in Alabama at their plant they will spend BILLIONS and throw money at it left and right to immediately crush it like an ant. You know, Alabama - a place with a 27% black population - a ton of which disproportionately work in Amazon warehouses?

So are Dems socialists or capitalists? Do you think you could come up with a coherent answer?

Your deep concern for the well being of wage workers is noted. It's comical though.

Dictionary definition of arguing in bad faith.

“I’d totally stop supporting the fascists stripping us of voting rights, widening the wealth gap and dividing our country…but unfortunately the other party went pro-business and pro-globalization during the Clinton years, put more blacks in jail with the crime bill, and hasn’t really stood up for unions in 3 decades. Oh and I can’t tell the difference between Dems and GOP in red states (didn’t they all just switch parties not too long ago?) So you see, BOTHSIDES!!!”

Well, there IS a global chip shortage going on right now, right?

In all seriousness, I'm surprised their existing union contract permits these kinds of working conditions.

Suicidal after 5 months without a day off? Pfft...fucking nancies.

I get that the job must be mind-numbing boring...but fuck me. I worked 7-12's for over a year without a day off...and commuted ~100miles each way into the SF Bay area every day...adding ( on average) at least 4 hours to my daily grind. Suicide never crossed my mind.

Would be nice to get a full story though, you're telling me that unionized Fritolay employees are

(1) Working 5 months straight - no days off... meaning, no weekends, no holidays, or paid time off?
(2) Working overtime all the time.

So just simple estimation of working 7 days - and lets say they are working 10 hour days for overtime equals 70 hour+ weeks of working? And not getting overtime for it?

Only one side has spoken thus far, and it's likely an initial exaggerated claim - especially since.... they are unionized lol. I'm pretty sure Rule#1 for unionization is "Overtime must be paid" lol.

Lemme guess, you commuted uphill in the snow both ways? You’ll get no sympathy from me, retiree (only envy!)

"I can't imagine it so it can't happen".

I certainly never said that.

That's nuts, but yes, instead of suicide, how about changing jobs?

Not that Kansas has much of an economy (despite all the deep business tax cuts nearly bankrupting the state..) so perhaps consider moving to a better job market.

Plenty of unfilled jobs in cities paying good wages.

Called them nancies. Disregarding the homophobic remark (I'll assume ignorance), the implication of your wording is that you can't imagine their situation being bad enough to warrant it. Ergo, if you can't imagine it, it can't happen. Don't be so judgmental, you have no idea who these people are. Suicide is the last cry of the unheard.

exactly what bitek said...if your job is so bad that you'd even consider ending yourself...find a DIFFERENT JOB.

"OMG It's NOT THAT EASY! It's SOOOOOOOOOOOOPER difficult to get online and fill out job applications in 10 minutes! All the typing... and the searching...UGH! So much work!"
