Fitness Brand Ambassador

Anyone here ever been a fitness company's brand ambassador or similar?

I've been given an opportunity to be an ambassador for a company. I'd rather not say which. Curious what other people's experience with this kind of thing are. I'm not really sure what to expect, if I want to do it or not. I have some of the details, which basically amount to a series of (decent) product discounts and some cash incentives if people use promo codes, etc.with growing incentives if I do well.

Thoughts?

As far as I can tell, most of them revolve around essentially a pyramid scheme, but I've never looked into them. There are too many stupid companies that spam instagram for "fitness ambassadors" for me to give it any sort of weight.

With that said, I do know a handful of people who have large enough social media followings that they get products sponsored by some companies (Nike, Ryu apparel, Lululemon, etc) and then post a handful of pictures or whatever.

Pyramid scheme? In what way? To my understanding I'd be "working" direct with the company, and I would not be recruiting sales people or other ambassadors.

Well I decided to give it a shot. Doesn't cost me anything and could be beneficial. For a few hash tags & social media posts, might as well!

Like one of those college co-eds that wears a t-shirt a size too small and stands on a street corner downtown handing out energy drinks?

lol could be. I'll let you know. I'm known for wearing tight clothing.

Basically its a pretty good discount on an expensive but otherwise great product in exchange for some social media plugs & testimonials. Small cash incentives as well and a few other things, but it really boils down to me talking up their product on social media.

Please make sure your talking up/plugging their product doesn't happen here. Just a word to the wise...

lol oh yeah. no worries there. I'm aware thats against the rules. plus I've said lots of things here that I'm sure no brand wants to be associated with. There are even things I've said that I don't want to be associated with.
