That seems like such a hilarious and petty thing to cheat at lol. But I guess it was all about getting the prizes. Basically stealing. The organization should make them bring the boat and other stuff back at the next tournament gathering so everyone can stare in shame as they unhook it and sign it back over. Bonus if there is an announcer on the PA system giving a play by play.

Things are collapsing for them
I couldn't help but notice that they had guys out there with AR's to seize the boat. Seriously? And I'm still unsure of the legal aspects of seizing the boat, is it really a crime to fake fish weights for fishing tournaments?

Might have violated natural resource laws. DNR isn't an agency you want to fuck with. They take their jobs seriously, and aren't interested in excuses.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office in Ohio tells TMZ, "My staff will be meeting with officers from the Ohio Dept. of Natural Resources today regarding the matter. I take all crime seriously, including attempted felony theft at a fishing tournament."

Theft through deception.

Google it it's a thing

Yeah, that's what they got the folks that rigged the McDonald's Monopoly game for.

a guy i know in the cleveland area (supposedly) accidentally shot a deer at the edge of a state park where no hunting is allowed, and was dressing it when a ranger randomly rolled by

he was lucky to get off with a few thousand in legal fees and fines

There once was a crook with a hook
His fish made the top of the book
With lead in his cod, he stole a great wad
When caught he cried “Oh fook!”

I wish they would take regular theft that serious. Here people get stuff stolen from them all the time and the thieves just get a slap on the wrist and sent on their way to steal again.

It looks like they take cheating in fishing tournaments seriously.

"The would-be tournament winners, Jacob Runyan and Chase Cominsky, were indicted by a Cuyahoga County grand jury on one charge each of cheating, attempted grand theft, possessing criminal tools, and the unlawful ownership of wild animals, prosecuters said."

Damn they really are taking this seriously lol. I mean, it is fraud and theft so they deserve punishment, but if they just went and stole that stuff directly without cheating at an event, they'd probably get less in trouble, if at all.
