Inverted is the way it's gotta be.

I liked Doomsday's explanation of regular: &quot;I use regular. When I shoot I follow the target. It's the common thing to do when you're a person.&quot; That makes some sense to me, especially since I consider myself a person.

My opinion, though is this: the up/down movement of the mouse controls where you LOOK, it does not cause movement. Now, pretend there was a handle coming right out the top of your head. You pull back to make your head tilt back/look up, and you push forward to make your head tilt forward/look down. Or, if you prefer, you could have a big mouse bolted to the top of your skull. You pull it back to look up and push it forward to look down.

Obviously, 😉 inverted is the correct setup. All you regular people just never bothered to test the controls and are now unfortunately locked into your regular ways. 🙂

i used to play inverted in the quakeworld days.. but then i quit playing for a long time. When i started playing again with UT i just used the default and i can't get used to inverted anymore (well i probably didn't try too hard either), regular plays just fine too.. 🙂

I can only respect you inverted folks if you use the mouse that way in Windows!!!! Now how many of you do that? I just can't see using the mouse inverted. Guess I'll have to try it out. I only instagib, so it will REALLY screw me up. BTW, let's play some instagib CTF!!! 😀

Last time I checked, the suggested tool for flying flight simulators was the joystick, not the mouse. Whenever I 'fly' without a joystick, I always use the keyboard.

That gun sight is a cursor. If you hold your mouse up to the same plane as your monitor, as you move your mouse, the cursor moves directly in proportion.

It's only LOGICAL to use regular, at least if you're right-handed, I guess. =)
