I was searching through apartment listings today, and was surprised to see that first floor apartments nearly always tended to be cheaper than second floor apartments, even in the same complex.
I've always preferred 1st floor myself, on account of being hella lazy (not to mention it's a lot easier to get furniture inside the apartment if you don't have to worry about winding staircases), but what does a 2nd floor have to offer over a 1st floor to make it worth the extra money?

I won't live in a place where I can hear the people above me. My first place was the top floor and my second was the first floor. I liked the first floor place much better.

2nd floor also gets more heat in the winter.
