8>7 Man,so just chill :biggrin:the 670 seems to be making my 680 purchase look like a dumb decision!! Tell me theres something more to the 680 than just being 100 bucks more...
Why doesn't amd just start giving away free money as well? Having cards unlock is the dumbest idea ever
670 custom is the vfm high end card no point spending nearl 100% more for a sub 10% performance diff, though if 680 oc is 10%+ better it will have many takers
Depends on how good NV's yields are, if its "lower than expected", thereshouldcould be more gtx670 skus than gtx680.![]()
Damn if these cards can consistantly clock over 1300mhz it looks like I may be switching cards again. lol
Looks like Gigabyte is using identical GTX680 OC PCB with two added phases for the memory subsystem -- thus that's a 4+2 phase design for their GTX670 OC card. It has also retained the 6 + 8-pin power connectors from the 680 OC version:

Can it be unlocked into a 680? :awe:
where are you getting that from? the cards that have 6+8 pin usually have 150% max power limit. it would make no sense for an oced 6+8 pin card to have less than the 132% of the reference card.Think the 680 version of this card had a max power limit of 111%,same for this?

VRzone review, and a few users who own the card.where are you getting that from? the cards that have 6+8 pin usually have 150% max power limit. it would make no sense for an oced 6+8 pin card to have less than the 132% of the reference card.
Nope, I would any day take a 7970 over it at $400. Once both are overclocked the 7970 >= 680 at 1440p with MSAA. This thing will be a good 10% slower at those settings.
If this thing is 400 bucks, then the 7970 should be 400 bucks too.
And 7950 should be $300.
Has anybody noticed this yet, a 670 OC @ 1400 core scores X3400 in 3D Mark. A 680 at 1150 scores higher and even my 7970 at 1175 scores a bit higher than this.
So a 680 at 1150 is going to beat this probably by scoring 3400ish as well. So 680 at 1200+ or 7970 at 1200+ are both going to best that thing by a good 5-15% (avg 10%) even if the 670 is at 1400 Mhz which itself is not sureshot even for custom 670s I guess.
