To me, it sounds like OP of the link doesn't tell us all the detail, in order to hide his arse and blame Nissan.
I really don't understand people saying "If using the included feature (LC) voids warranty, why did they put it? They shouldn't have included it, blah blah". It's like blaming AMD putting overclockability, which also voids warranty. Only difference is car warranty costs a lot more, so Nissan is picky about it, while AMD doesn't care since it's cheap to replace.

So all the 'Ring times and stuff...are those only achievable with these functions off?
Meaning to get your car as fast as advertised, for a "stock car", you need to void your warranty?
Uhh....er.....Corvette ftw?

Seems like it. Very misleading by Nissan. I'd never buy a car from a company like that, no matter how amazing it is.
And which car do you think deserves that title? *snerk* :evil:Originally posted by: Viper GTS
Is it wrong of me to find this so hilarious?
Maybe will finally shut up the "OMG Supercar!" GT-R circle jerk.

Maybe Porsche did not turn off VDC when they drove their GT-R because they don't want to void the warranty?![]()

I read about this a few days ago on Autoblog but didn't really research it.
Few comments on this:
1. If the power levels are stock, then the GT-R tranny is glass.
2. Even if #1 is true, in my gut I feel this guy is a complete tool who probably abused his vehicle beyond belief. While I don't have any fancy DSG or VDC computers trying to work their magic, I know without a doubt that I could break my car if I wanted to. There are just certain things you shouldn't do in a high powered AWD drive and expect to walk away mechanically intact.
3. $20,000.....really? I find that hard to believe, did you lose all of his differentials too? That's just absurd for a transmission, whiz-bang tech or not.

I actually wondered that EXACT same thing last night.
