It's tough to beat the tC, in term of performance and pricing.

Nissan Senta Spec-V

Doesn't have near the build quality IMHO.

EDIT: The handling is nothing to write home about either. I mean, come on a beam axle out back?

Fine. tC is hidelously ugly and cheap looking ricer?

I'm really not sure where I stand on the tC. I was just stating my observations about the Spec-V.

Obviously you aren't in So Cal, where kids get cars from their parents. Also, if the parent doesn't buy the car for them, there's something these days called financing. Come to UCLA and check out the cars in the parking lots and I will guarentee you that RSX's is on the low end for college students. Hah! PWNAGED.

Btw: I drive a 1989 Toyota Corolla.

boy, you need to keep your ego in check.

well, I am from So Cal, so does that give me credit to say you're wrong? I have a friend that go to USC in a beat up 90 civic. Not everyone in So Cal are rich, maybe you are, but not everyone else.

oh, i know its very subjective, but the new facelifted Sentra is ugly. I kinda like the old one.

and btw, your year's Corolla is cool. the coupe version is even cooler.

Anyone here have one of these yet? I'm probably going to buy one quite soon... the Type-S in either the VBP or SSM.

Anyone get anything under MSRP for these?

That was the most vague video comparison I have ever seen.

I'll reverse that statement for myself.
A stock RSX looks like a scalded cat to me, too high.
But I find the tC to be even worse looking.

But, of course, I'm biased. Here is my RSX.

I drove my friends brand new 2004 Type S, and it was a nice ride, but I defientely wouldn't have picked it if I was in the market for a car. Compared to my Topaz, the Type S's visibility is poor, doesn't have any grunt off the line and shifter has very little left/right effort making it easy to get into 5th when upshifting from 2nd.

Funny you should mention that - the shifters on the RSX are notoriously easy to mis-shift. There's quite a few videos and pictures of misshifting (unfortunately for most people, its from a higher gear into a lower gear)

Ummm notoriously easy for wannabe thugs and racers. 95% of those threads start with, "well I pulled up to xxxx car at a stop light and...".

Really, any high revving car with a close ratio transmission is going to have its share of moronic drivers (Celica GTS, S2000, etc). The RSX has one of the best trannies available- blame the driver, not the car.

What's the point of having a high-revving, "sporty" car if you're not going to drive it like one? It shouldn't be that easy to mis-shift it.

yeah, cause heavy and slow transmissions are WAY better for fast driving.

"It shouldn't be that easy to mis-shift it."

The only way that's gonna happen is if you have a heavy and slow tranny/shifter.

They could also make it with a wider gates/non short shifter. I don't see how that would make the transmission "slower".

Wide gates suck. I can't wait to get a car with a short-throw shifter. Wide gates also slow down shifting and are less precise.

I agree. On my test drive (see above) I didn't miss a single shift, and I got that up to 5th a few times (the dealer was pretty cool). I liked the close gates, and this is coming from the owner of a Honda Civic DX 5-speed with wide-ass gates. Close gates weren't a problem...
