I think it's wise, personally.

Well said. Like most people already know, most trucks will not see massive boats or have more then a bed and a dresser int eh bed. So GM made a truck that fit that life style. One that can tow and haul medium amounts of carge while giving a very nice ride and decent gas milage for a truck. I liked this part the best....

" It takes as long to appreciate the improved stiffness of the new architecture (GM says it's 250 percent more rigid) as it takes to encounter the first bump or depression or railroad track. Colorado and Canyon float across those types of things with barely a ripple disturbing your karma or your coffee. They're also a lot quieter than the old models."

Damm thing sounds like it rides better then my old buick.
:)

If you do haul/tow large items, then you need a full size truck and should not even be looking at a smaller one. I think GM is setting the bar that the full size trucks are the work horses, and the medium ones, like this, are aimed at those that would buy a Jap truck for a better ride, soemthing that older small GM trucks did not truely offer. So in the long run GM has setup a 1 2 punch on trucks. The full size trucks I think are next to be redone, even though I think they are still the best OVERALL choise of a full size pickup right now.

I'm gonna have to disagree there. U-G-L-Y.

Really depends on the trim level. The "offroad" styles with the big plastic fenders look like poo. But the "sport" style looks pretty sharp, as does the 4x4 one sans plastic cladding.

I disagree. I think that 4 door is a sharp looking unit. Easily far better looking than any other compact/midsize pickup available now.

Doubtful. Best looking compact/mid-size are the Tacoma and Dakota

I've always been fond of the 4x4 straight box (none of that flare/sport box crap) Ranger & Mazda clone.

What are you on? A steaming turd looks better than a Dakota.

The body looks pretty good. I do not like the prerunner stance (front lower than the rear) at all. The power potions do not appeal to me either. a 4 or a 5? WTF 5? Gimme at least a V6.

I see GM selling tons of these tho. It seems that people want the ability to move a big ass couch, or a sheet or 2 of plywood, even though the only cargo the truck will ever see is a laptop.

The 4-5 cyl's make decent power/weight, but not the kind of torque you need for pulling stuff. I bet I see a few of these off the road up here because the driver thought they were invincible in their newfangled truck. Of course these people have no fricking clue how to drive a RWD vehicle with 75% of the weight on the non-driven axle.

The 5cly makes comparable/better torque then other V6's. So why put a WEAKER engine in there like the others out there???

"while the Vortec 3500 I-5 has horsepower (220) and torque (225) that's better than or comparable to competitors? base-level six-cylinder engines"
