Just for clarification I'm not concerned with the difficulty of getting an ID, I'm concerned about voter ID laws that are unconstitutional and are essentially a poll tax. If reasonable accommodations are made to receive a FREE ID then I'm fine (reasonable as in a person that lives 200 miles away from a license issuing authority can apply online or via a pre paid letter).

The problem would be how to get their picture taken, though I suppose a system could be set in place at post offices and public libraries like they have now for passports. The best solutions are ones which utilize an already existing system which we know works and is relatively secure.

In quoting eskimospy, I agreed that "Budgets" are pointless political theatre, intended to impress the gullible. weak minded outrage addicts merely seize on the lack of one to get their fix. Their leadership realizes this, keeps them occupied with the new & shiny, like toddlers, so that they won't find their own amusements out there in the far reaches of Glenbeckistan.

Appropriations are what matter, along with honesty. What's the point of a budget if it's not followed, other than creating illusions?

Obviously a budget is no good if it isn't followed. But we haven't even had lip service to a budget.

Write a budget (that doesn't involve in shaking the citizens for more pennies, we're broke enough already), and STICK TO IT as best as possible. Yes, I get that sometimes you can't always, but they should at least try to.

Tell me, do you have a budget? Do you live within your means? or you just take out larger and larger credit cards, hoping that the creditors won't knock down your door one day, repo the car, and take the house? Because that's what the idiots in washington are doing right now, have been for years, and sooner or later those creditors are going to come knocking. But it will be you and me who get burned in the end, not the politicians.

One of the most important things that anyone can realize is that government spending and family spending have nothing to do with one another.

So they financed normal government operations with a budget, and then financed extraordinary government operations with appropriations.

That certainly seems a lot more reasonable than not being able to come up with a budget for even the normal operations huh?

Ever the apologist. I could see the initial invasion as off budget, but after that it was just smoke & mirrors. They knew it would cost trillions, no matter how much they lied about it paying for itself...

It's not like we've gained anything from the wars, other than egg on our faces...

Shush, you. They're on a rant, the usual self indulgent display of twitter-patted pearl clutching, with the talking heads of the Right playing them the way Eric Clapton plays the guitar.

When the tune changes, they'll be singing the chorus, bet on it. It's the fringewhack equivalent of golden oldies, after all...
