that's nasty dude, cereal was not meant to be soggy. that's like saying ice cream is supposed to be melted or something.

Soggy, and I like my popsicles partially melted so I can mush them up into a snow cone-type substance.

Crunchy: why even bother with the milk, it only makes it taste worse. I seriously wonder about all the rest of you who want it crunchy and then add something for the sole reason of making it soggy...

I've had this debate with friends all my life. Most people say they add milk only because you are supposed to. They just do it without thinking. Frosted flakes + milk? Gross. There is only one cereal that needs it - grape nuts since they are hard as a rock without it. Try pooring yourself a bowl of cereal without milk and try it once. Most people I've actually convinced to do that haven't gone back to milk.
Thats why I say milk often makes the cereal taste worse. I forgot about shredded wheat though (I never buy it). I guess 2 cereals need milk. Shredded wheat is too dry and stringy without it.and frosted flakes are nasty with milk.... that's why i don't eat them. i have honey nut shredded wheat![]()
I've found that a nice glass of juice or milk itself is so much better than sugarry, dirty milk from the bottom of the bowl...of coures i've had cereal without milk. but i get thirsty!

Personally, I prefer to let my cereals sit for 5 mins or so before eating them.. especially Peanut Butter Captain Crunch.. let that sit for a good 5 minutes or so, and it will be the soggy mush that cereal SHOULD be! My wife on the other hand, completely disagrees.. she gobbles down the cereal the instant she pours milk on it to make sure its as crunchy as possible.

Can I make a change to that? I agree that high sugar cereal = nasty with milk, but my favorite cereal of all is Cracklin Out Bran (definately an adult cereal) and it tastes great without milk.well i think we can generalize it to:
kiddy cereals - nasty with milk
adult cereals - good with milk
