Hard to muster any sympathy for people injured by their own dumb-assery.

When I was sixteen I worked at a factory, and they had a forklift. I really wanted to drive that forklift, so one day I managed to talk one of the younger employees into giving me the key so I could move a rack. I had never driven one before, and took it around a corner too fast. It rolled, and the roll-bar crushed my right hand into the pavement. I screamed just like that kid, for a long time. Many, many surgeries later I got most of the use of my hand back. When I heard him screaming on that video I had no doubt it was real.

My point is that I was a stupid kid, and he is a stupid kid, and if you don't have any sympathy for what happened to him, then you are a stupid kid.

No, the point is that while all kids are stupid most of them are not stupid enough to lose limbs. That kid was PLENTY old enough to understand that you don't set off fireworks in your hand and 16 is PLENTY old enough to understand the dangers of operating heavy machinery which you're not qualified to operate in a severely douchebaggy manner. My sympathies lie with innocent victims. If you had hurt anyone else with your forklift driving I'd really feel sorry for them. You, not so much.

Met a guy last year on a business trip that had the 3 center fingers on one hand blown off as a kid.

I wasn't able to take my eyes off the lobster like quality of how it looked and then my co-worker that was with me and has no shame just had enough and finally asked him what happened.

He shared the story of playing with fireworks as a kid and one blowing up in his hand.

When I was a kid I would at most hold a bottle rocket or black cat, light it and toss it but no way in hell did I or would I ever hold anything powerful enough to do damage in my hand.

My Dads childhood best friend blew off the tips of his fingers on one hand also from a firework accident. Meeting him when I was a kid probably left a lasting impression.

He's holding it in his left hand, lights it with his right(cuz he's probably a righty), transfers firework to right hand and it explodes just as he's in the tossing motion.


Edit: Why is he even lighting fireworks at a riverbank... do they explode underwater? He was definitely planning on throwing it there.

Seriously if you are over like.... 8 years old and hold an explosive in your hand while lighting it you are probably not bright enough to ever contribute anything useful to society anyway.
