I did check for update, it downloaded 7.1MB update, and then when it was installing, it gave me some sort of internal error - secure network connection not cleaned up.

So I had to restart Firefox. Dunno what happened.

The hardware acceleration makes my refreshes laggy. At least it isn't crashing the browser like it did in beta 4 :^D

Edit:
Hardware acceleration was only partially enabled. I fully enabled it, and now it's smooth, and blazing fast. It did hang on startup, so I'll have to keep an eye on that, but I don't usually restart my browser often.

New problem. Can login to simon.com/giftcard, but cannot logout. Logout button does a javascript postback. Is this another bug in FF4's JS engine?

I just downloaded beta 6 today. Is there a way to keep the App Tabs stay after I close the browser? It seems as if it is supposed to but every time I close it I lose them.

As usual, the auto-update did not go smoothly, gave me an error about not cleaning up a secure connection.

Also, it said my dev version of ABP was no compatible, and then offered to search for an update, which it claimed it installed, but I noticed that ads were still showing in the browser now, and when I clicked on my extensions, then on the configure tab for ABP, the browser locked up.

My App Tabs always stay after closing the browser. The only time they don't is when I go back to the stable version. I share a profile between them, and the App Tabs won't go back after being in stable.

On update from beta 5 to beta 6, all my addons disappeared except the mozilla (feedback, sync) ones. Installing new addons failed too. Maybe something wrong in my setup.
On the other hand addons are working fine in Minefield 4b7pre.

i have not had any problems keeping my extensions. i use MOZbackup to backup firefox then restore them with it once i do fresh install of firefox with new beta. i remove firefox completely each time with revo uninstaller pro each beta.

I commend Mozilla for their work on this! Holy crap did I notice an IMMEDIATE difference between this and FF 3.6.9. Once I enabled direc2draw mentioned in previous posts, even more of a difference was noticed.

The only complaint I have so far is that the text appears a little more blurry to me now. Does anyone else notice this or is it just me?

Wish they got the Opera thing with the thumbnail tabs. And an adblock thing that allowed you to block frames, like Opera does. And I wish I had enough money to get Windows 7, so that I could actually get hardware acceleration and all that other cool shit.

Getting rendering errors sometimes on the tabs/title bar. Everything is black and not transparent and minimize/maximize/close disappear. FF4b6. Didn't happen in beta 5. Apart from that it's working great 🙂 And yeah, the fonts are displayed a bit differently, but I got used to that.

Add-ons getting a little more compatible! https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/compatibility

I just hate how some add ons are compatible with Firefox 4 but some only the beta and others only the nightly build. Quite annoying. That is why I want to wait for the final version so I don't have to choose.

Firefox extension framework should be more simple, robust and tolerant to the browser upgrades. Good on Google Chrome for coming out with a simpler and more robust extension framework. Which has put pressure on firefox team to improve.
