Does anyone noticed that firefox has a short lag before loading pages, which is annoying because IE seems to start rendering the page immediatly after clicking a link. I have firefox 0.9.2 and like it a lot, but recently after convincing a colleague to try it and switch from IE, he pointed out this fact, and when I performed a direct comparison it does indeed look like firefox has a delay there, which makes it seem slower than IE. Are there any comparative benchmarks out there ?

Guys, I don't mean to hate but, how exactly is this a hot deal?
If someone was posting a new version of Opera (which, imo is a superior browser) they'd be flamed out of their minds.
Just because it's a software program that the software masses enjoy doesn't make it a "legitamate hot deal"
Just my 2 cents.

i use firefox for my normal internet surfing, with Flash not installed. if a site needs flash, there is a context menu button that lets you vie the current page in IE. perfect browser.
You can install the flash player for FireFox as well... I think you have an extension installed to view the current page in IE, that context menu isn't available normally..
Flash Player

An official thread should be made for Firefox and updated as needed. We don't need a thread everytime a new point release of Firefox comes out. This is an idiotic method of doing it. Still not a hot deal.

To all of you that thanked me for this post, you're more than welcome. I know a lot of people use Firefox and would like to be informed when new versions come out. You know, when 0.9.2. came out and it was posted in this same forum, I don't remember all of these people complaining "It's not a Hot Deal" and "This doesn't belong here." This may not technically be a Hot Deal, but it is something a lot of people would like to know about so what does it hurt? Besides, if you want to go around policing all the threads that don't really fall into the forum they are posted in, you have a lot of work to do past this thread. The thread title is pretty self explanatory so if you don't like what you see, don't click on it.To everyone else, you're welcome. I'll be sure not to post anything like this again, even though I was following an example that was previously set.

More stable and secure than IE... until it becomes mainstream (and targetted by hackers and viruses).
You hit it dead on... it's only a matter of time.
I expect it's happening already - 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 have both been security fix releases.....
