Firearm carriers - where do you keep your extra magazines?

Trying to get some muscle memory going. Two magazine holster. It feels pretty wrong being in front of my hip, sitting and standing both. Not natural.

To tell you the truth the most natural action for me to reach for them is grabbing the base of my spine with my left hand.

 why would you bother carrying the extra weight of an extra magazine? Do you mean, while you're at the range? Seems there's a bit of a difference between self-protection & expecting a zombie apocalypse at any moment.

Not sure why you'd want/need an extra clip for concealed carry. In the event that you have to use it, I hope that you shoot well enough that you don't need multiple clips. Otherwise, you're probably going to end up killing a bystander.

While the "need" to even carry a gun in the first place escapes me, needed to carry extra clips TOTALLY eludes me.

IMO, if you think you will be needing more than 6 or 7 shots you should just carry a rifle.

Muscle memory for reloading?!?

My extra magazine goes right next to the gun (SmartCarry holster). At work, both magazines are in front, immediately left of my belt buckle.

I watched a video with Ken Hammond (the Utah mall shooting) - he now carries an extra magazine. He didn't then - 7 shots goes fast. Fortunately all worked out for the best, but still. I carry a Glock 36, which only has a 6rd magazine. It's no inconvenience for me to carry a second magazine.

Thanks for a professional opinion. You're belt is probably already pretty crowded, it just feels more natural to me to reach off my left hip or behind it.

For now what is most comfortable is just behind my left hip. About 8 o'clock.

So training is a bad thing? I don't want to have to think when the zombies attack, I just want to do.

I keep my extra magazines next to the toilet. Oh wait, you're talking about... don't you mean "clips"?

That's what I'm coming to realize and that is what I'll work on for my muscle memory/training. Off to the range I go.

I've got a feeling we're all going to see you on the news some day, and that it's not going to have gone down like you think. :(

Seriously doubt it. I can't remember the last time I heard a bad story about a legal conceal carry holder. For the most part people that legally carry are some of the most responisble gun owners around.

Spidey probably thinks that a Democrat is going to jump him...

It takes a special someone to bring partisan douchebaggery into a thread about carrying a magazine.

Yep. Very rarely do you see a violent crime committed by a CCW holder.
