Looks like a lot of fun. 2 questions. What are you using for time-shifting? Should I PM you my address for the Super Bowl party?

I saw RCA and started laughing, at least you went with the DLP model though, should've gotten one of the Samsungs :)

Otherwise very nice...are you using the PC for gaming though? I wouldn't think you'd need to OC it that much, might be better to run it at stock settings and put a quieter fan in there, up to you though.

Nice, but the audio is lacking, especially the sub. Why not an SV sub?

Actually.... I paid $1900 for it so the Sammy couldn't compete at that price. Also, on the AVS Forums the RCA Scenium HD50LPW162 is very respected. It uses the HD2+ chip which many consider superior to the newer HD3 chips. Better contrast.

I bought the sub about a year ago. At the time Soundstage and a couple other magazines gave it good reviews for my budget.... under $1000
I picked it up for $650. Sounds really good. I do plan on upgrading my satellites though.

I completely agree that the HD2+ chips are the best way to go, but I refuse to own anything made by RCA. I've sold their stuff for long enough to know that it's crap, Samsung has never let me down so I'll pay more for something from them. That specific model is probably the exception to the rule though, hopefully it'll work out well for ya.

Well, I did actually purchase the 4yr warranty for it..... covers everything including the bulb. But yeah, I was hesistant on purchasing it too. I was gonna get the Sammy but they wanted $2500. The sammy's do have thier problems too though. I researched for about a month before purchasing it and I knew the only way I was gonna buy the RCA was with an extended warranty.

RCA Total: $1900 + $400warranty = $2300
Sammy Total $2500 + $400 warranty = $2900

With the money I saved I bought the Monster Power Center to hook up all my components to for $350 and an DVI to HDMI cable for $100 :)

Nice setup!

I have a somewhat similar set up. My audio doesn't compare (Onkyo 760 HTIB--but it was dirt cheap and sounds good), but I went with the Infocus 4805 projector, 92" pull down screen.

Also have a HTPC running windows media center 2k5, and a separate 1TB Raid 5 array server (storing about 170 DVDs right now and ~2500 mp3's). Have a separate 30" LCD 720p tv, and modded xbox too. Have it all running through a component switch box so I can control it all with a harmony remote. Works well and for the size of the room I have (12.5'x12.5'), fits perfectly :)

 for the HT stuff

Well, the second cabinet is holding my Security Camera Surveillace System. :)
I work from home and like to monitor who is coming and going. I have been thinking about moving it.

But actually, its a 50" TV and I sit back between 9 to 10feet from the TV
Thats a pretty good ratio. For every foot the TV is its suggested you sit back 2.5 times the size of your TV if its a 16:9 HDTV. For me thats 10.5 feet..... So I'm actually at the recommened viewing distance.

My living room is 16feet long and 12feet wide. Its an apt though.....

It was part of the deal. In order to get the DLP at that price. :)
Though everywhere I looked DVI to HDMI cables are really expensive.
