Nice, but the audio is lacking, especially the sub. Why not an SV sub?
Love my SV Subwoofer. Pic of SV towering over Logitech sub. :)

My pic isn't as impressive for size difference, but the old one was pretty big to start with hehe.

It was part of the deal. In order to get the DLP at that price. :)
Though everywhere I looked DVI to HDMI cables are really expensive.

Did you check my sig? :p

For $50 you could have gotten one from bluejeanscable too... and the power conditioner for a budget sound system instead of a better display? :(

Very nice, some questions.

1. What is the latest on the Xecuter front? I have one of the original chips, 1.3 I believe. What are the advantages to the X3?

2. Why did you spring for the X3LCD? Seems like a waste of money to me.

3. Is there no longer a diskspace limitation on the X3? Before, going past 120GB became a bit of a nuissance.

4. Monster fan?

5. How does the AVR225 rank? I am not too familiar with HK, but is it on par with the rest of your equipment (ie TV)

6. What kind of rack is that?

6. What kind of rack is that?

1) The X3 has built in FTP server, don't even need a dashboard installed to FTP to it
You can change the bootup colors on the fly w/o having to reflash the chip
You can format the hard drive with the chip
Tons of other features built-in

2) For show.... it just looks cool....

3) No disk space limitation anymore....

4) Not really a monster fan.... the salesman knocked off $400 but that was only if I bought the monster cables and monster power center too.

5) The HK225 is o.k. I bought it about 1 and 1/2 years ago.... so its not the best but I can't afford to upgrade that right now. My next upgrade is for the satellite speakers. I want floorstand speakers than I'll get a new A/V reciever. But it should hold me off for another year or 2.

6) The rack is from Wal-Mart..... thats right! Wal-mart baby! $80 and its nice

Ok, I'll shut up now. I've been reading AVSforum all day trying to figure out what speakers I want to get and reading about your monsterpower stuff irritated me knowing what $400 can get you in the way of speakers.

Have fun with it

The sound is really good though. I calibrated it with a sound level meter. Setting the meter to Slow C weight. I also used a laser to adjust the tilt and angle of each speaker.

Very nice.

Are you sure the warranty covers *replacing* the buld or just defects in the bulb. I've heard of salespeople saying it covers the bulb but then people find out they still have to buy a new bulb for $300-$400.

an extended warranty usually extends the manufacturer's warranty for X number of years. Manufacturers do cover the bulb, so he should be fine.

I know our warranty does for sure, it prints out on the receipt for DLP's.
