Finally; the HT is complete (Yes, *PICS!*)

I won't be truly happy until I have a house so I can watch movies at Reference Level (105db) but this is the best I've ever had. :) Much money and even much more work...it's done; including a HTPC (mainly for MP3s right now).

I won't get into detail unless you ask specific questions, so here's some pics.

Equipment rack and LCD monitor

Projector and right surround

Projector and left surround

Front from the left

Wireless KB/MS (yep, it works from the couch) and the monitor

HTPC (not a very good pic)

YES! THE DUAL SCREEN GOODNESS! (technically, it's called "Cloned screen" found that out yesterday...)

More dual screen...er, cloned screen

The PJ is a DLP (Infocus 4805) and movies are an incredible experience. Screen is 44" x 78" (8.5 foot diagonal) :D

I'm broke for the next 15 years or so, but damn, I got my movies.

Nice, nice, nice, nice. Love the projector.

Good work.

Edit: How much did the projector cost, BTW?

nice man - my only complain would be the two cables running up the wall to the projector.

This answers BigFatCow as well.

I'm in an apartment. Not by choice, believe me. House is coming...one of these days.

You don't want to know. I saved a lot of money b/c:

1. I installed and calibrated everything myself
2. The speaker stands, equipment rack, screen, shelves are all homemade by me

I didn't buy it all at once!! Everything you see has been purchased over the past 2.5 years or so.

Yes, it can. It has an HDMI in, as well as a DVI and takes all forms of interlaced component in, up to 1080i. I donn't have HDTV cable, though. Not home enough to justify the expense. DVDs make me happy for now.

Out of curiosity, how long is your projector throw to get that size picture? And how did you decide on the 4805? Did you check out others or was it mainly based on performance per dollar? The 4805 is supposed to be a winner there.

As you can tell, I'm interested in your projector. Tell me everything. :D

Thanks for the compliments, guys. This is my Money Pit; but it makes me happy.

HTPC = Home Theater PC

99% of the time it's used to take the place of a CD player and a DVD player. I am just using it for CD player purposes right now.

I go Digitial Coaxial out for audio and S-video from video card to Svideo from the HTPC to the receiver. 320KB/s MP3s are identical to CDs. :)

I have only 4 movies on my HD; but that's OK b/c I have a DVD player to watch movies on. :)
