My old boss gave me a 96" wide DaLite ceiling mount pull down screen after the company we both worked for shipped our jobs to India. I still have it in the box but plan on mounting it really soon. My wife also bought me these for Christmas last year. I also managed to bag a really old (6 years old) LCD projector that gets the job done for now. Anyway, I've got the basics, but need to find enough time to put it all together. Can't wait! Good work on yours though. Awesome setup.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I've busted my ASS, physically and financially to make this happen. :)

L/R: Axiom M22Ti Link
Center: Axiom VP150 Link
Surrounds: Axiom QS8 Link
Sub: SVS PB2-Plus (why they call the cops on me) Link

Nice call on the Axioms. I've got the M60Ti's, VP150 center, HSU STF-2 sub, and crappy aiwa sorrounds :)

I miss my projector. I moved into a house that didn't have a place to mount it so I sold it to my company. I decided I needed that a projector wouldn't be good for watching TV. I'm so tempted to buy another one though...

Nice, congrats on getting that all set up.

Now, it's just a matter of time before you fully comprehend how wrong you were to use the word "complete" with relation to your HT. ;)

There is no such thing...

Honestly, not that great. :Q I haven't had a chance to tweak the output from the PC yet, but I doubt it'll get much better.

Due to the fact that this is a DLP projecter and it's connected via interlaced, component in, the projector's circuity does funny things with it. I'm sure if I bought a 50-foot DVI cable and ran that from the PC to the PJ, it would rock, but that is a $150 cable!!!! No money for a long time coming, now.

Though the PJ is PERFECTLY focused (trust me, I used test patterns, A/B tests, etc over a two-day tuning period!) the display from the PC is a little fuzzy. It's useable, but not perfect.

Now, MOVIES and TV thru the DirectTV tuner look AWESOME. I can see well enough to surf/operate WMP...that's good enough for me. Plus, that's what the LCD on the wall is for. :) Light neffing...er surfing and operating the "MP3 player" part of it. :)

This answers BigFatCow as well.

I'm in an apartment. Not by choice, believe me. House is coming...one of these days.
my complain is the cables as well, however you can drills holes in the wall and fish it to where you need it. Then patch it when you move.

My problem is space and that I live in an apartment(neighbors). When I had an apartment by myself I had the cops and apartment security called on me multiple times for noise(what fun is Xbox in surround if you can't feel the explosions. :p)
When I eventually have a house I'll be able to upgrade the TV and speakers, have pretty much everything else I need(receiver, HTPC, enough cable to wire an AMC theater).

i like it-congratulations. Smart people don't go out and buy a TV for 2500 bucks when they can have THAT! You have the complete package, but its really not the money thats most important. Its the knowledge to set it up and calibrate it for a reasonable price, and know how to use it. Pretty dumb when you see the same thing on cribs and the morons can't use it from one remote!

I like the setup, although I question the palcement of the rear surrounds and why they are so close to the corner. You're gonna have the dipole firings and reflecting off the rear wall, which creates coloration very soon in the sound. However, for most movies, the surrounds don't play as much an important role as does the front sound stage, imho.
