I can't stand Sonic. The whole concept sucks. I have to eat in my car? WTF? So they cut their costs by not having a dining area and still charge the same as other fast food places.

I'll take Chick-fil-a or Wendy's any day over Sonic.

The drive in is not a cost cutting feature. It is supposed to be reminiscent of the 1950's drive-in dining experience. There is still a big nostalgia following here in OKC with drive-ins like Sonic, Del-Rancho and Coits. Sonic is a OKC company that took that nostalgia nation wide.

I dont know if its Oklahoma thing, but Sonic prices have been Jacked up compared to a year ago. OKC vs Austin,TX pricing.

That is a nationwide thing because of rising fuel and food prices. Cost of doing business in Austin is higher than OKC so the prices probably have been adjusted to make up the difference. If you shop around, you will find that prices are up everywhere, including McDonalds.

I wish we had White Castle & Top Hat grease bombs in Florida like they have in Michigan. We have a Sonic about a mile away and they are nothing special.
There's a skyline from cincinnati in naples - white castle may get there.

---

These are fast food 'restaurants' - convenient but not a bastion of taste and nutrition. The possibility of severe disappointment after traveling many miles is great.

My wife's neice and her friends ended up being #12 in line on opening day.... I haven't got the full report from them yet though. lol

I wish they'd get a Whataburger where I live in Michigan. Man now that's some good shit.

TX + Bordering states only 😀. A1 Burger is ridiculously good, it's seasonal though.
Really? Wow I thought it was more common than that, then again like I said I've only just eaten there a couple weeks ago. They need to go national!

Whataburger Rocks!
Fuck Sonic, Whataburger lovers unite!

Ok... here we are...the Sonic's a month old now... and you still can't get into it after 10am.

I went to the Meijer's that the Sonic sits in front of... and specifically made a note of the cars in the wait line.

There were 15 in the wait line... so I basically only concentrated on the last one in each of the lines.

45 minutes later (the length of my Meijer visit)... they were still in line... but were now approx 3 back from the front of the line.

I hope the food is worth it. lol

Oh the other hand... I can't wait to see how busy it gets during the Downriver Cruise here in a month or so.

They just recently opened a Zaxby's next to my work, which has a fantastic chicken club sandwich that is oh-so tasty. Just found yesterday they are building one pretty close to home in the town I live in. Yay!!

Whoop de do, Sonic sucks.

Agreed. I looked forward to the opening of the first Sonic here as well, only to be disappointed time after time by their lack of quality. (come on folks, it's a fucking burger...how hard can it be?)
They opened 3 within about 20 miles of each other, one next to a new Costco. That one folded within about 2 years, one of the others is struggling. Only the very first one seems to be doing enough business to stay open. It's also the only one with a good location.
