LOL. Now I need to see this movie. It sounds painfully stupid.

Not all war movies suck. I thought Jarhead was pretty cool. He spends the whole time training to be a sniper and he never gets to shoot his rifle.

when people playing fps think it suck, that should tell you something

Yes Jarhead was cool and didn't have any stupid scenes like that. The bomb squad guys in Hurt Locker just pick up a sniper rifle that some other guy dropped cus he got shot by a sniper, they sit there for like 5hrs it seems in the same spot where they were trying to shoot the sniper and even drink a Capri-Sun, a bright, shiny Capri-Sun that any sniper could pick up. The bad-guy sniper hit someone in the EXACT same spot where the bomb squad guys were seconds before but of course can't hit the bomb squad guys that are in the exact same spot now. Plus the bomb squad guys act like infantry and chase bad guys throughout the town and basically do nothing that regular bomb squad guys would do.

Zinfamous is right, at least that's what I took away from the movie:

The reality of the action was not intended for the day-to-day work of these soldiers, it was, simply, talking about war can be addicting. The purpose was to be emotionally honest.

As to your point about honesty, I think you're missing what the movie was honest about. The best way I can think of it is that this movie is the antithesis of Saving Private Ryan. It's about what "really" happens to soldiers in war, how war affects them, and how these "super heroic moments" and "honorable deaths" are nonsense.

I'm not saying I agree with the movie's point, but I thought it was pretty clearly setting itself apart from most other war movies. It reminded me of Generation Kill.

It's funny people would blame Avatar for the suicides. If your own life is so horrible that you want to escape to this planet of having sex with cats, then you were bound to kill yourself sooner or later.

Why not stay on earth and have sex with a goblin?

Yea the sniper scenario was esp stupid. retard takes position of the guy who got shot, doesn't bother relocating at all. they are possibly getting flanked, no one seems to care.

load of shiite really.

overall the movie was decent. I think a lot of people missed the big picture of how the main character got addicted to the action...

but then you bring up this scene. Which you are right... totally ruined the flow of the movie and was quite ridiculous.

Jarhead was pretty much....garbage.

I agree with that. I was very disappointed in this shitstain of a movie.

I finally got around to watching "The Hurt Locker."

It was OK, but just OK. I never could "connect" with any of the characters, parts of the plot were predictable, and parts of it just seemed disjointed.

I agree that the "sniper scene" was...lacking.

In all, I'd give it a 4/10.
