Finally got my wife's slot car track set up lastnight

I always lopped off the rear post on my cars so that you had to slow down on the corners and if you really wanted you could "drift" around them. Of course, that gives the advantage to the guy on the outside if you have guardrails, but with a figure-8 track it's less of a concern. Also, if the guy on the inside was clever he could actually use the other car as a "guardrail".

i'm just sayin... you'll play with it too. hell, i'd like to play with it. 😛

This can be taken totally out of context 😉

What do you mean? They're just talking about his wife's slot car.

Man, I wish this forum had font sizes.

I'll reiterate in more thread appropriate terms:

OP, did you get to park your slot car in her slot garage?

we had race car set where all of the cars were silver...probably late 70's maybe...can't remember if it was slotted or not, but when we got that thing for christmas, we played non-stop for 3 days...i vaguely remember the tv commercials for it..

I remember having that exact car like the #16 in the second pic.

Santa got my son a slot car track this year. I, er...um, I mean HE is going to love it. Already been on Ebay looking for cars like I had back in the day.

I miss those.. I used to take them apart to try and make them better (little bit of lightweight oil on the gears, messing with the tires for different gearing)

I really miss being about 8 years old...

You sure he's going to love watching you play with it? lol

"DAAD I want to play!"
"NOT now kid I'm in the zone!"

Ya those things were bad ass. I had a couple of those and a CP Rail train set too. One day I decided it would be fun to run 120 V on the track from the outlet to try and make the train got a bit faster. All I remember was a giant spark of blue the size of a ballon appearing in the air and smoke. RIP CP Rail set, you were fun 🙂

I LOVED thoes things! We used to put a bit of cooking oil on the turns so the cars would do power slides! we also had fun making ramps going off the front pourch and launch the cars to see who could get the most air.

Good times...
