Who is GMU? You said you are in Virginia and my daughter goes to George Mason University there, so I can't think of any other GMU's.
Congrats on getting coverage! Please, let me suggest a simple thing for your kidney stones: Put a large glass / bottle of water next to your bed at night. When you wake up, drink as much of it as you can. It's as simple as that.
When you sleep at night your body keeps filtering out the waste through your kidneys and stores it in your bladder. Which is why you usually have to pee as soon as you get up in the morning. When you sleep at night the 'sediment' can lay in the same spot of the kidneys and start clumping. This happens because you are laying still for 6 or 8 hours at a time. Enough clumping and you get a stone. Peeing in the morning drains your bladder, but does nothing for your kidneys. Drinking a large glass of water in the morning will flush anything out of your kidneys. I drink when I get up, and then usually go to the bathroom right away to pee. I often have to pee again maybe 1/2 hour later. So, I know that I've flushed out my kidneys. Bottom line is: It can't hurt. Even if it does nothing to help your stones it certainly won't hurt you and costs nothing. For those who don't know, once you get a stone, you are very likely to get another.
EDIT: That's some speculation as to why it works. But again, it can't hurt and for people who keep getting them it seems to work.
