Good choice. I have the red model and it's awesome. Very quiet considering it has two fans. It handles the system in my sig without breaking a sweat. A nice feature that has gone unmentioned is that after shutting down your PC, the 80mm fan in the PSU stays on to get rid of the hot air.

it all looks good...what's your budget? nice build but do you need the SLI board? if you're getting the 2nd card in the next month (maybe two) then i would stick with it but otherwise, why not drop down to non-SLI?

Good choices. I still wouldve liked to see that good modular PSU in your system... other than that  on the ordered parts!

The specs were good the first time around.

LanParty SLI-DR is a proven board. The 4400+ is a great CPU. I won't make a judgement call on the Hiper PSU; it looks well built, flashy, and it may/may not have a good OEM behind it's guts.

Opteron vs. X2...you can get good performance from either CPU depending on the week. The advantage of getting a 4400+/175 vs 3800+/165 is the 10X multiplier vs 9X multiplier. You won't need to max out your FSB to get a good overclock with a 10X multiplier. If you have the money for a better CPU, why not?

As for the mobo, I'd recommend maybe either an nforce 4 ultra, like the MSI Neo4 Platinum, since it has extras like a PCIe x4 slot, or maybe an ATI crossfire mobo, like the Abit AT8, which i just got today. It's really nice, has Azalia Audio and crossfire and firewire and all sorts of goodies.

For PSUs, the recommendations above are good. I also like Antec and Vantec. I have a Vantec 520W PSU and I love it.

Some people think Fortron, OCZ, PC P&C, Antec, and Seasonic are the only good PSU brands. In fact, Hiper is an awesome PSU brand and that PSU is a rock solid choice. Have fun with your build :).

can`t go wrong with the Fortron 500watt....

Also if I was going to go modular that Hiper Type-R 580W PSU is one of the few companies that does modular right!!

Enjoy your new system!!

Motherboard: I would have waited for the RD580 boards to come out if I was going the ATI route (in which case I'd get a Powercolor x1900xt). However, if you don't feel like waiting, the Asus A8R-MVP would probably have been my choice...
Videocard: Like I said, Powercolor x1900xt
PSU: Probably the Enermax Liberty 500w. DFI is very picky about which PSUs they like, not sure why. I'd go Fortron, OCZ, Zippy, or Enermax with a DFI. If you go Asus, I'd get a Seasonic 600w.
CPU: I would have gone Opty 170. Extra overclockability is there just in case, even if you don't think you're going to use it ;)

Everything else looks fine.
