This keeps getting better and better. First it is moved from early Jan to 12-26. Now the game is set to ship on 12-18. You can check ebworld to verify.

ff's have been going downhill, 9 was absolutely disgusting crap.

and i dont have a ps2 to find out🙁

Bing Bong....likewise....i loved the SNES square games...and ff7 xenogears for PSx...didnt much care for 8 or 9...but the demo of FFX changed my mind.I cannot wait to get my hands on the full version.
 
ncircle, i want to play it, i always give them the benefit of the doubt, but it LOOKS like another "new final fantasy" if you know what i mean. i'll play it, eventually, it has some cool features, but it's all about execution. we'll see.

oh, and i think the characters look retarded as hell, not as bad as 9 though, and probably a little better than 8.
 
FF2 and 3 are my all time favorite. let hope 10 has some substance to it and replay value.
 
What was so bad about FF8 and 9?

I've only played 7 but all the reviews I read on the 8 and 9 were pretty good.
 
reviews will always praise ff's, it's a different story when you were playing ffIV back in fourth grade. the characters now are just totally unlikeable, not to mention ugly characters and less and less inspiring stories.
 
I usually check ign.com and gamespot.com for my reviews as I find that they are usually pretty good in accessing games. They both gave FF8 and 9 fairly good scores. Whats wierd though is that it seems like people either hate or love those two games. Since I'm pretty much a hardcore rpg fan, I'd probably like those 2 games. In fact I bought 8 not to long ago but I have'nt had time to play it yet.
 
The guy I talked to at EB said he was amazed at the amount of people that think they will be able to get one without reserving it. The one I went to and two others around me are only getting enough for reserves. You might end up waiting an extra week or two if you take the chance.
 
just cus youre a hardcore rpg fan does not mean you will like every final fantasy.

If the story in 10 can come close to the story in III (US) then they'll have a winner on their hands. I've played 7, 8, and 9, none of them held my interest long enough to actually finish the game.
 
Cool. Got the FFX demo in the mail today. It actually looks promising. The battle mode is sweeet! It's not like 7 & 8 where it has to shift from an animated state, to a still state. The graphics are fluid-like. I mean it's the DVD quality that they expected to make for the PS2. I think even though I lost interest in 8, didn't even play 9, and didn't see the movie, I think I'm going to have to buy this title.
 
I've only played 7 and 8 an I liked 7 much more that I did 8. I've seen screenshots of 10 and it looks awesome. A definity buy for me, I love RPG's.
 
I'm playing IX now, the storyline's not that good, and the main character lacks that precense that they other characters in the other games had. But I'm still enjoying it, because I haven't played a FF game for a while. Final Fantasy 3 would have to be my favorite. I remember paying $80 for that back around '96 I think.
 
Finished VII. Played VIII, got bored after a while, didn't like the characters and hated the LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG summons. IX was a refresher, liked the whole throwback attitude. Will take a wait and see attitude with X, the graphics are amazing but then again that's what it was with VIII.
 
my theory to why everyone doesn't like ff8 is that the love story was too much for you guys....

everyone rags on ff8, they like ff7 and ff9 the best cuz it's more like the traditional ff games i guess...
