everything is good, except get a case with no power supply. this case link has nice ventilation. if you want something more expensive, the Tsunami is a very nice case link there is also a version of it in silver and one with a window

also get a Fortron 500W Blue Storm power supply link

or if you want something a bit cheaper, the Fortron 450W power supply has more than enough juice to power your system and then some link

the 7800GT's wont come down in price anytime soon. if they do, it wont be by much. it took a while before the 6800GT's went down in price dramatically. getting a 6800GT today is a bad idea since a faster X800XL is cheaper and runs cooler and a 7800GT isn't much more expensive.

i'd suggest getting an LCD if your budget allows it. one suggestion is getting a Dell 2001fpw for around $450 or the Dell 2005 fpw widescreen for a bit cheaper. the 19 inch model from Dell isnt the best for gaming

how about this lcd? link

have you picked your os yet?

x2 3800 - around $360
ocz value series - $200
case - add $50
seagate 250gb - $110
xfx 7800gt - $370
dfi lanparty - $130
dvd burner - $45
floppy - $10?
fortron 450W - $49.99
Samsung 19' - $300 with rebate

= around $1600

and thats without adding an operating system

so maybe if you get a X800XL, you will save $100
settling on 1gb stick will save you $100, you can always add another 1gb later for dual channel

= $1400

With A64 X2 3800 that is 2.0 Ghz you can overclock it to 2.4 Ghz on the average.
And w/ a good set of ram you can do it @1:1 ratio(CPU/RAM FSB). Also the timing on good ram is tighter which means better performance. Check that link I provided and this Link to learn more. Over here at this forum most members overclock their system and will help you set it up. Basically you overclock your system to take it to higher level. For example A64 3000 is $146, but after overclocking it to ~ 2.4ghz, it will be ~A64 4000+ which is $380 (all approximated ) and saved money. Same w/ rams a good pc3200 can be OC. to pc4000 or more, thus saved money on ram. You could do the same to video cards. Be careful between Manchester/Toledo and make sure which one is a better overclocker. The Antec Case comes w/ 120mm fan and is solid plus the PSU is unmatched.

PSU<==u mean which one..?

also I've heard the toledo is better at OC but no one can prove it so really its just not a huge deal but I'm gonna go with the newer build, toledo:) only like $5 diff.

I don't plan on OC until the 3 year warranty is gone on my cpu....:\ I think..... mabe... anyway...

So I should change my ram... ?

for $25 more yes. better ram better, w/ or without overclocking.
Antec 3800 is 400w SP(smart power) which is dual rails. anything more than 400 is overkill specially for what you showed in your sig. Others may say 500w, but no need or the psu is not true 500w. I am using antec 1650B which is 350w sp and more than enough for my overclocked A64 and 60 watt vedio card, 2 SATA 1 PATA, 2 IDE, a Floppy, modem, 1 120mm fan, 2 80mm fan. If you dont have more than I do, Antec3800 will do fine+ saved some$.
Edited: I am using antec 1650B-not "3500" sorry. and it is 300w sp

A DFI board requires more power than your typical motherboards. that 400w Antec psu is merely ok, not anything special. a Fortron 450W which is conservatively rated for only $49.99 offers much superior power and will save you future headaches, especially if you decide to overclock

Also that ram designit said... um thats a huge list........ so .... I donno......

Patriot 2x1g LLK<==couldn't find in store under that name anyway...

its a powerful power supply. its not fancy like the Fortron Blue Storm so thats another reason for the price. also, Fortron and Sparkle are one of the largest power supply designers and manufacturers, so they can afford to sell at lower prices.

i have a three year old Sparkle 350W power supply and its been powering my rig very smoothly. i bought that power supply for a very low price. i have added a lot of parts through the years. Sparkles are made by Fortron Source, so its basically the same

no need to spend more money on ram. that OCZ value is very nicely priced so just buy it.

the DFI likes OCZ memory, its picky about other kinds. some people have run Patriots in DFIs though. and you dont necessarily need to overclock your ram. it wont matter much in terms of speed anyway

either.

if you can spend the extra $40, go ahead. if you cant, you will still get almost the same power

by fancy i mean its a bit more nicer to look at and its cables and the paint job is blue. the cables are sleeved as well

the 450W unit has basically the same power

it just keeps your case a bit neater and cleaner. a lot of people who like to show off the insides of their pcs use them. it really doesn't matter much

i dont think so.
why would any mobo uses more power than any other? I thought power and wattage depends on the hardwares not mobo. Plus, is that fortran dual 12v rails?
Todays cpu's requir it.
show me where it says fortran is "far superior than antec".

Antec does not make its power supplies. Fortron does. That doesnt make them superior but it tells you that they specialize in power supplies. they have been doing it for the past few decades

yes, DFI boards do require more power than others. many problems that DFI users have can be traced back to the power supply. yes, that Fortron is dual 12v and has massive power on those.
