Probably NTFS, although they promised us WinFS.
Will there still be FAT and FAT32 support for removable media? I would imagine so, but just wanted to check since I have a few digital cameras that this would be important for... 😉Originally posted by: STaSh
NTFS, and there is no option to use anything else currently. And I hope it stays that way. FAT32 is horrifically obsolete.

I haven't tested that, but I'm almost positive there is. NTFS does not work well with removable media.
Right, I have no problems with trying to wean people off of an outdated, less reliable, and less secure filesystem, though I would still like to have support for it in case one needs other drives, partitions, or removable media to be FAT for compatibility. I highly doubt that you all would take that away, as all digital cameras aren't going to switch to NTFS overnight even if it did work well on removable media... 😉Originally posted by: STaSh
Just to clarify to my first post, I was referring to the Vista installer having no option to specify a file system.

I really doubt all camera manufacturers are going to pay MS royalties just to use NTFS on their media.
It does work with removeable fat32 devices. I've used my 60 gig usb drive to put drivers on it as well as a usb key.
Microsoft already tried to get royalties from them for FAT16/32. Time to invent an open source CFS - Camera File System. Or PFS - Portable File System.
