Figure skating ...

I wasn't watching, can you list who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd? Thanks.

Will tune to NBC right now, maybe it's still on,

Not that I can personally defend it, since I don't know jerk squat about figure skating scoring, but Scott Hamilton DID note that the Russians' routine was technically more difficult. So I guess that in some judges' eyes, harder + not as smooth was better than easier + smooth. *shrug*

never could watch it.... the whole anorexic with tights skating in circles.... never caught my attention

At least the Canadian female has a fairly attractive face, even if she is a bit on the smallish side...

So is this the basic rundown of the controversy (sp?) I just tuned into it and they were talking about the judges being split.

From ESPN.com

With collisions and judging controversy, figure skating grabs the spotlight at the Winter Olympics. The Canadian pair of Jamie Sale and David Pelletier skated brilliantly, won over the Salt Lake crowd, but still lost to the Russian pair of Yelena Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze, who slipped in the program after taking a cross-body block from Sale during the warmups.

sully is currently shocked and disgusted. He's organizing a letter writing campaign to the Olympic committee

1) can anyone name another sport that is decided by judges where multiple mistakes beats perfection.

2) does anyone who saw it think the russians won.

damn those judges. they should be SHOT

EVERYONE knows Canada won that gold. they damn well deserved it. Russia was good, but not as damn good as the Canadians.

I hope those judges get what they deserve

<< was it a particular judge that cost the canadians the gold? >>

5 judges had the Russian team ahead, 4 had the Canadian team ahead.

The interesting part was that the judges that had the Russians ahead were all current or former Communist countries (China, Russia, Ukraine, Poland), and a Socialist one (France). Meanwhile, the four that had the Canadians ahead were the four judges from the most capitalist countries (Germany, US, Canada, Japan).

That was SOOOO fscking BULLSH!T!!!!!!! :|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|

You heard the crowd chanting "SIX". And then booing the judges when they gave us the silver. Damn those euro trash to hell!

I also believe the US team did sh!tloads better then the Chinese team. That blew chunks. We both got robbed in this event. :|:|:|
