This isnt even touching the US supported right wing dictator that was Batista.

Why do you think so many Cuban-Americans are so crazy, right-wing, and hostile to anything Cuba since they have been here? Because they are the former elite and rich who were in league with Batista that fled like the cowards they are when Castro, Che, and the Cuban revolutionaries kicked the living shit out of Batista.
so are the current refuges from Syria a bunch of cowards? What about all those illegals coming in from the southern border? Cowards that don't want to fix their own countries?

Do YOU even KNOW what their health care is like? Geesh.

Competition is what I argued about on the Internet and now I'm glad that is exactly what Trump wants; good old fashioned Capitalism.

Currently, the ACA deductibles are so high you can't use it! Then the cost, the fucking cost!

You just made that up, didn't you?

I know hard liners personally who never lived under Batista, in fact, they didn't even exist when Batista was in power.

Nope, it's government mandated capitalism. Does govt control the means of production? Nope. You're getting ass-raped by pure American capitalism and screaming for more.
Did you know lawyers make like 30 bucks a month down there? Doctors about the same? I had a filling done while I was down there (they don't use Novocaine!) and I paid the dentist direct and doubled her salary for the month. There definitely is capitalism down there but most of it is illegal. Stores are state run and the market doesn't dictate prices in them, they are always the same no matter what stores you go to.

Whats funny is Kaepernick is kneeling for the alleged oppression of minorities. Yet he wore a Fidel short to a press conference and defended it. The irony and hypocrisy is astounding.

Obama's comments on the death are pretty pathetic to me. As if he was a good person, and ruler. ABC claiming he was the same as George Washington? Please.

Have you seen what the other world leaders have said about him? Fidel always inspired a kind of loyalty and fondness from many Cuban people, even among many of those who wanted change, that should not be ignored just to have the empty satisfaction of kicking a dead guy in the teeth to the detriment of our interests. We have done and said a lot better by a hell of a lot worse people in that regard.

I don't think you really understood Obama's statement... there's a lot of subtext here.

He's not praising Castro. He's trying to walk a fine line between maintaining warmer relations with Cuba and acknowledging that many people are glad to see Castro gone. I don't know that Obama walks the line perfectly, but now would not be the time to tap dance on Castro's grave.

As it is: I don't like the idea of celebrating a ruler's death unless it means an end to atrocities or horrible wars... and it doesn't here. It's the end to an important chapter in history, but it doesn't change the political reality of Cuba or that many people in the country still revere him. Celebrate if and when Cuba becomes a democracy.

What is astounding is the clulessness of a lot of US people, indeed i wouldnt compare Castro to Washington who was a slave owner, land grabber, genocider and slavery supporter...

At first Castro was a nationalist within the Orthodox party wich was opposed to communism, he changed his stance after the 1952 elections were suppressed by a US sponsored coup staged by Battista, who BTW killed at least 20 000 people from 1952 to 1958, so a democracy was crushed by the US to install a blood thirsty dictator, so much for the US propaganda that never mention the real history, hence most US people are completely retarded by the will of their government.

The only common point with Washington was that his parents owned 10 000 hectares (25 000 acres..) of fertile land where there was 300 families working, or rather being quasi enslaved..

After the revolution this domain became property of the state, so contrary to the first US president he did put his money where his principles and morality were...

He said nothing nice about Castro that I saw. His words were clearly looking at the future by reaching out to the Cuban people.

Trump would only want to reach out to the Cuban people if it meant he could build a hotel there and profit. Nothing else. No symbiotic relationship between the two countries, just personal profit.

What i know is that he didnt declare slavery as illegal, neither did he recognize any right to the native legal owners of the land, it s astounding that those foreign people oiginating from Europe pretended to build property rights based on a land theft.

As rightly put by Castro the war philosophy is the byproduct of the looting philosophy, and this latter is the essential characteristic of any capitalist system even if it s toned down in the wealthiest countries, i mean, look at the republics in central america that kept being capitalist after the cuban revolution, they kept being poor and revolutions were looming like in Nicaragua where it was opposed by death squads financed by the CIA.

You forgot about enslaving Cuban youth in his Make America Great Again sweat shops. That could be the ONLY reason since he doesn't care, at all, about people, in any way, just to profit and rape and pillage since he's so awful and evil.

His slogan was make american great again, yet his products - made in China. A small step up from Cuba. That's a man who stands by fair labor practices.
