I think it's a fairly good looking car. Traditional Fiat quality is a concern, but based solely on looks, I'd consider one. I prefer the Mini for small cars though.

Oh, I agree, it's cute. But you'll never buy one and neither will I, for a number of very good reasons.

JLo annoys the fuck out of me. I'd fuck her face, that's about it.

I'd fuck her any which way I possibly could...she's just not hard on the eyes.

One of the Fiat commercials, J-Lo says something about "My block has gotten bigger," and I always here it as, "My butt has gotten bigger.", which is has since she had kids...

I like the car. I'd rock one as a daily commuter if it got better mileage.

I like it, too. But like you said, a car that small has to get significantly better mileage before I'd consider it. And the performance levels of the Abarth won't come close to touching a Cooper works Mini, nor does it undercut a Mini on price.

Plus, like lxskllr said, there are lingering legacy concerns about Fiat build quality, not to mention parts availability and service questions for any real world buyer.

Too many huge, looming but(t)s, including J-Lo's. <---- Not a fan.

for some reason, that car looks much better in the Italian ad than it does in the JLo add

:hmm:.

I think it's the black color. Some cars change dramatically with only a color change, and I think that's one of them.

Isn't Fiat one of the largest auto manufacturers in the world? I'm sure they've gotten much better in quality.

I doubt it. I haven't driven anything "Fiat" since the early 70's, but they've always had a reputation for being unreliable.

FiAT = Fix It Again Tony.

if you buy a mini you're a sad and boring person, atleast that's how it is on this side of the pond.

my cousin has a 500 and it's worked flawlessly ever since she bought it, it's a nice little car and I can't really find anything to complain about. but I'd rather (on account of me being 2 m. tall) have a golf GTI or a scirocco R

Yeah. I'm sure they modified that car to fit J Lo's fat ass in it. Also, she probably wouldn't be caught dead in that car if they didn't pay her to be in it for the commercial.

Ok all you Fiat haters can stuff it.

While fiats in the 70s and 80s had well deserved issues for the most part those shortcomings were fairly consistent with its competition in those days.

For the last 15 years since Fiat upgraded and modernized its supply chain things have been better.

There is a reason James May loves small fiats...

I had a fiat 131 with many Abarth parts that beat small blocks back in the day...
