I mean you can use the mouse but so much faster using the keyboard because the interface is not like your usual MMO where you have hotkeys. You can make hotkeys out of macros but just not the same. Now on to the differences...
Final Fantasy XI
Skills level up SLOW!!! I mean they go by 0.1 if I remember correctly
Not very much solo content in game
Character levels up very slow compared to WoW
The game is kinda wierd with Japanese people running around that you have to use a stupid translator depending on what time of the day you play.
Tradeskills are pretty awesome
Quest system is mediocore
WAY MORE bots that farm the hell out of the game
End game content like any other game
World of Warcraft
Very solo friendly
Levels fast
Skills gained fast
Game has bots but blizzard tries to remove them when found
Quests are good but get very repeatative near the end
Tradeskills mostly worthless
End game content very repetative
EverQuest II
Awesome game
Quest system is great but same the quests get very repetative near the end
Game has solo and group content at any level
NEEDS very very good computer to run if you want a smooth game
Also they are not supporting EverQuest II anymore because it was a BIG FLOP and now they are going back to EverQuest I and remaking the entire game into a newer version of EverQuest I.
But it depends on how you want to play. Do you want to party alot then Final Fantasy XI is good for you.
Do you want to solo alot then Guild Wars or World of Warcraft for you
But if you just wanna have fun... that is up to you to decide.
As for what next MMO to wait to play is in my opinion Conan

I think it will be way better then crap ass Vanguard that looks like a EverQuest II rip off.
But also check out Anarchy Online... which is very fun to play with friends... no need for guilds or any of that crap. Just you and your friends running around having fun!
