Tested on iPad.

Searching "Final Fantasy" pulls up the link, $16 bucks though? Too rich for my blood.

They''re milking the Final Fantasy franchise worse than Mario and Zelda.
I hope with this release, Squenix is now committing to mobile gaming support. Previous to this has been... less than you would expect from a AAA release gaming company.

Just seeing that it's a 2GB download makes me wince on my metered connection. The issue is that Apple has no concept of partial updates. If Square were to release a patch with a few typos corrected, I would have to download the entire 2GB again. There were a few times when I would just never update a 1GB+ app because the update information just listed "bug fixes", and I never ran into any bugs.

If they had remade it from scratch I bet it could have been more efficient for the platform. Smaller and faster.

In any case, Am still waiting on 3D remakes of FF 1 and 2. And 6. Or a Steam version of 6.

Size: 1.63 GB
Cost: $15.99

Too expensive for casual gamers. Only true fans will get it.

X-com was roughly that big and that price. It was actually fun to play on the phone. Not sure how much they made. FF7 should have a ready made user base. But we'll see

Nah, Nintendo's worse with their remakes especially the 2d stuff.

Has anyone played the Final Fantasy Tactics iOS game?

Even the PSP port was poor. Though I appreciate the better translation, it's basically a PS1 game that runs horrible on hardware nearly on par with a PS2. It ran with such slow down on the PSP that the sound effect came long before the visual effect of many attacks. Very jarring to see.

$16? ha, forget it. Guess it could be worse. Nintendo wanted $40 for Star Fox 64 on the 3DS despite having no new content to speak of.

also most over rated RPG of all time

it's actually the reason i hate RPG's now a days. before that, they weren't full of fluff. it didn't take 45 minutes to have battles before that game. i remember you could do some magic in that game and i could go take a shit, make some ribs, take a nap, come back and the magic summon still wouldn't be done animating. and that was just my turn.

I fail to see how Zelda has been milked.

Unless your idea is simply making more games in the series.

This is only on ios and should be moved to the apple area.

And this is the worst game in the 1-10 FF era. :)

I remember playing the demo (or watching a demo movie maybe) and seeing that Leviathan spell. That was awesome! Then I realized when I finally had a chance to start playing the game that it was in fact not awesome as I now had to invest a good 2 minutes of my life every time there was a random encounter.

Pretty sure I never played a JRPG again after that until Ni No Kuni.
