Shens. Drugs don't affect your driving ability. The dopers on ATOT have spoken on this numerous times.

Yeah, because when you are stoned you drive slowly and are extra super-duper careful. Nothing bad ever happens.

SUVs are lethal when in crashes. SUVs in the hands of women drivers who are high is even worse.

Gotta wonder at the comment about the side impact being better for overall survival, though. I would have thought the Subie would have done very well in a head-on, especially if the other vehicle rode up over the Subie like a ramp. Might have missed the pax compartment altogether with a head-on.

No point in speculating, though.

It's always normal to speculate and I tend to agree.

If he had time to brake and turn the car 90 degrees he should have accelerated out of the way instead.

I wonder how the heck it went out of control like that. I've had other people steer for me many times, it's really not a big deal in the right circumstance (mostly empty road). I probably wouldn't take my sweater off while driving on the highway though...

1. We don't know what drugs they were on. Could have been meth, mushrooms, cocaine, not not just weed.

2. I'm pretty sure that taking your sweater off behind the wheel while sober is still incredibly dangerous and stupid.

I disagree. I hate when someone asks me to hold the wheel. It's really hard to keep it straight from the passenger side. If whatever you're doing is important enough to ask for someone to hold the wheel, it's important enough to just stop.

As for the sweater, it's hard to take those off in a confined space and I can see her brushing the wheel while doing so.

Thanks, Lightning McQueen. If only he'd had your mad driving skillz.

I completely disagree. In the one instance where the drivers thinks its an empty road but a car comes out of nowhere was it worth it then to get someone else to stupidly steer for you? Either way, pull the car over or wait for the opportunity to do so.

Nice story, but I doubt his idea was to move her out of danger and sacrifice himself. More likely he was just reacting the way most of us would which is to try and move out of the way.

Either way it is sad. Hope the driver gets a LONG time to think about what they did.

True, it is just natural instinct to try to turn away from danger.

Still, a sad sad story.

That was a sad story. :(

As a side note, I wish this would lead to more naked driving. I hate having all these clothes on and being in a confined space. :p

Notice how the driver who killed these people was uninjured, at least according to this article.

Sad. Drugs certainly didn't help, obviously don't know if it directly caused the accident but still stupid to be under the influence of anything and driving. And taking a sweater off while driving is dumb as hell, it takes less than a min to pull over and take it off.

I'm also kinda surprised that both the people in the backseat of the SUV died, that's one hell of an impact.

EDIT: Oh now I understand they weren't wearing seatbelts and it rolled, shitty.

driving is dangerous enough when sober, if for no other reason than you have to watch for other people who ARE intoxicated/tired, distracted etc....which makes being on drugs and distracted extremely dangerous.
