Cheney and all those puppet masters are not President and Bush is the real decider. We can't even get him impeached and the troops are going to Iraq. What recent President can you point to who has accomplished so much of his agenda. You people need to wake up and smell the coffee. You blather on about what an idiot he is and meanwhile he cuts your throat and laughs as you bleed to death. Bush has a vision and his vision has changed the world. He is an idealist who has manifested his ideals. He is a tremendously capable leader. He is also the President. This is a guy that rolled the Democratic party and got them all wanting to be like him. 911, terror, Bin Laden, Iraq.

He's the most powerful person in the world and you know he's an idiot? Right, you don't see something wrong there!!!!

Either he's a genius who acts like an idiot or an idiot who acts like an idiot. I truly don't think Bush is capable of deciding anything for himself, he farms everything out to the people around him which, to be fair, a certain amount is supposed to be given to, but he is supposed to make the final decision on many of these issues. I truly don't think he is, and if I'm wrong and he is making these decisions, then that means he truly is an idiot.

See my sig. Obviously you have clue as to how the presidency works. Farming out responsibility and tasks is the prime job of the prez, moreso than a CEO or prez of a corp. Do you honestly think Bill Gates is even 50% personally responsible for Microsoft's success? Hell no. He had a vision, and surrounded himself with people he knew could do what he couldnt. Thats what makes a successful CEO or president. In the same light, Im sure you know senators dont read any bill they sign. They have staffers to that for them. Thats how the presidency works also. He has "people" to do the grunt work, and based on their input he signs or doesnt.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but not all Presidents operate in quite the same manner, as in being so detached they don't care to know anything about the issue, don't want to study it and aren't interested.

Abe Lincoln read every book he could find on warfare after the Civil War broke out, since he knew he was a novice.

A more modern example is Clinton.

Real CEO's take the time to study the issues and make informed decisions(along with council from their trusted people). I'm not convinced Bush ever takes the time to study anything, let alone put any real thought into what he does or says.

Rumor has it that he actually read a book or two since he's been in office.

LOL... book reading contest...

I try to avoid categorical statements about people I?ve never met and don?t know personally, but I feel comfortable saying there is absolutely no way on earth the president read all of these books. None.

Finally, we have an American equivalent to 'Chairman Mao isn't old and frail! Why, just yesterday he swam the width of the Yangtze River six times!'

Sorry W, Veggie Tales don't count. ;)

I think the entitlement mentality is OK so long as it is backed up by an impetus for action to gain that entitlement. Many of the "I'm special" type of young people grew up in well to do environments, with Republican influence; hence they have a disdain for handouts and are willing to work for and demand what they want. If private business eventually doesn't provide it than so be it, they're hopes will be dashed. But there is not some new wave of socialistic entitlement in America as the clueless right wingers think.

For Republicans this is an improvement as in earlier generations entitlement expectations were for union jobs, pensions, social security, etc.

Yeah, 'cause if there is any group that knows how to work for what they want, it's the children of rich people.

Well to do = rich???? IMO Middle Class in America is pretty well to do.

My point was that the children of folks who have done pretty well for themselves do not always share the same hard-working spirit. Mostly because, whatever their parents had to work for, THEY didn't have to work for anything. But they DO have the "Republican influence", telling them that they are better because their parents are well off. This creates a sense of entitlement just as strong as what you were talking about, only it's "Republican entitlement".

Why do I think this? Mostly because I grew up in a city filled with upper-middle class "Republican" kids, who, with a few exceptions, were the biggest bunch of spoiled brats I've ever met. They took what is a very valid message, "work hard to get what you want", and turned it into "you have what you want, so obviously you worked hard". You know, the kind of kids who would complain that the car they got on their 16th birthday was the wrong color, but would nevertheless look down their noses at those lazy poor people.

IMHO, if that attitude is not exactly socialistic, it's not too far away. It might just be a little more selective in who it thinks is "entitled". True socialism might say that everyone is entitled because they are a human being, while "Republican socialism" says *I'm* entitled because I'm a white Christian who grew up in a nice neighborhood, and screw everyone else.

"I'm a white Christian who grew up in a nice neighborhood..."

The big bad Repub Christians out to get you again?

If, as I proposed, that because of their Republican influence, these new entitlement seeking people were not willing to accept handouts, what is the problem if they whine and beg to mommy and daddy but eventually at some point have to work for their next BMW?

Will they demand new levels of cronyism? That can only go so far.
Will they trample on the lazy left wing masses? Haha I can only hope. ;)

Republican Christian is an oxymoron.

Their behavior is hilarious. There elitest-self centered atitude is hilarious.

All I want to say is sit down and shut the fvck up.

I don't think that the prior generation of college students can comment on the current generation being douchebags.

Well the baby boomer generation is a bunch of losers, so I don't think it's unacceptable to want better than that. The world is obviously fvcked, economy is running on debt alone, etc - the kids who think they're going to (and deserve) a life as easy as their parents are going to have a rude awakening.

I knew a lot of people like that in college and they aren't going to do anything productive, sort of like their parents. There's money to be made though in the upcoming misery.

Ya, it's all an act. Have you ever seen those shows he does once in a while where he makes fun of himself? Just like all the big jokers on the radio do, but he sounds just like himself, so it's even better.

GWB knows exactly how he sounds, and knows exactly where he wants to go. And before you say no, he's stupid, he definitely got re-elected, and it wasn't really that close.

Anyway, ya, the whole "give all the kids a trophy, they're all winners at heart!!!!!!" thing is crap crap crap. No. You have (1) winner and (~6bn) losers. If you try your bestest and lose, try harder, the world can't afford to keep babying you.
