FARGO – The Obama administration asked North Dakota’s largest health insurer not to publicize how many people have signed up for health insurance through a new online exchange, a company official says.

Forget the failure that Obamacare is and will continue to be. Forget how many hundreds of millions of dollars have been blown and how many more will be blown on this. Forget that more people have lost their health insurance than have gained health insurance. Forget all that.

Now Obama and his administration are trying to censor private companies? How is this even halfway acceptable? I thought the government wasn't going to take over the insurance companies? In my eyes, this is the first step in that direction.

This is America, not Russia. The government cannot and will not order private businesses around.

Clearly anything that does not reflect favorably on the dear leader must not be allowed ;)

In fairness, they've "asked" that the disastrous numbers be censored, they have not actually forced the company to do it. Their "request" probably comes with a nudge and a wink and the implied threat of bad things in the future for the company if they don't agree (hello IRS audit, it's handy to have the IRS as a punitive attack dog for any organization that falls out of favor), but we don't have proof of that.

I thought this bit was interesting:

Still, a spokeswoman from Blue Cross Blue Shield says about 14 North Dakotans have signed up for coverage since the federal exchange went live Oct. 1. That brings total statewide enrollment to 20 – less than one a day.

I can see how that is confusing.

James Nichol told a crowd in Fargo that the Obama administration had asked them not to report what are, frankly, embarrassing enrollment numbers for North Dakota through the federal exchange.

But now BCBS is saying that Nichol was confused, and that the Obama administration never made such a request. Kyle Potter, who broke the original story, reports

FARGO – Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota says a company official “misunderstood internal discussions” when he said the Obama administration asked the state’s largest health insurer to keep quiet about how many people had enrolled so far through a new online exchange.

Spokeswoman Andrea Dineen said in a statement Wednesday that the company had received no such request from the federal government.

Clearly someone is hearing voices in their head.

Most transperant admin in history.

They have been doing this for some time. They were pressuring insurance companies to not publicize if premiums were going up due to Obamacare.

Your parody posts aren't funny.

FYI in case you didn't know, old man.

What would be hilarious would be to see the memo that was mis-construed to see what part caused this whole 'mis-understanding'...

The very sad thing is that people who side with Democrats will only see positive things about Obamacare while the people who side will Republicans will only see negative things. I don't claim to be without biases, because I have plenty, but this healthcare thing is just terrible. No other way around it. Sorry Democrats, it is what it is. And Republicans, don't get happy over its demise - people suffer when things like this happen.

Looks like it is time to rename the program to ObamaDONTcare. When even Jon Stewart makes fun of your program, despite you being a Democrat, your program is in real trouble.
