In the same boat now but with UPS ground. I paid $1000 for flash photography equipment and my package has been in Oklahoma since last Friday and it is traveling from TN to AZ.. The package hasn't even moved an inch for like 5 days now. Seriously now... that's just ridiculous, even with holidays.

They aren't moving it because they don't want to, it's because there are higher priority packages.

More and more people are shopping online and it doesn't change the fact that people tend to shop at the last minute.

you get what you pay for. i assure you they want to deliver your package, but people that paid for higher levels of service get priority.

If the delivery method is cheap or free then what should you expect? If you have a lot of money in the item(s) being delivered, pay for better service.

My last 2 Amazon prime purchases went thru Fedex Smartpost. Took 4 days to arrive, rather than two....

I demand a sacrifice!

Did you call Amazon?

I have never had them miss a 2 day window unless you are counting an order placed on late Saturday and not arriving until Wednesday.

From some of the comments in this thread, it looks like the delivery of FedEx SmartPost/UPS SurePost is somewhat to the discretion of the local post office? Someone said USPS mail carriers only take the packages when they have extra room in their trucks...someone else said that their mail carrier doesn't like to deliver packages. I must be lucky because as soon as the tracking info shows that it was handed off to USPS, it gets delivered to my house the next day. For the Amazon Prime orders that I get through SmartPost/SurePost, it takes a day to get from Amazon's fulfillment center to my local post office via FedEx/UPS, and then 1 more day to get to my house. Sounds like this is far from the norm...

It took 10 minutes for my post office to decide if they would even accept the package.
