I personally think this is a good thing for a few reasons. 1) Takes away an anti-women talking point. 2) If you start sending home drafted daughters in body bags, their fathers will demand an end to the war (or at least the draft). 3) I think at these point in time there is no reason for unequal treatment in signing up for the draft, although I would be fine if the roles drafted into were lopsided based on sex/fitness.

I assume pregnancy or primary caregiver would be an exception. I can see a lot of people having kids if there becomes a hint that a draft will be needed if this holds up.

Like the old marriage exemption. Probably contributed to the high divorce rates seen in the later 70's.

I assume that would be true. But if you drafted into support or state-side roles, it may not be a total exception.

If bone spurs is enough to get out of serving your country, I assume pregnancy/being a primary caregiver will exempt you without question.

"1) Takes away an anti-women talking point. "

No, its not a talking point, its institutionalized discrimination.

I don't mind this so much--just that the lawsuit was brought forth by one of those incel "male discrimination" groups that are using this as a test-bed for all sorts of preposterously useless lawsuits going forward, trying to legislate some sort of reparations for all of the horrible discrimination going on against men all these generations.

Custody/divorce will be next, most likely.

Yeah, I didn't look into the who much, but I figured it was an incel type. I don't think women would be given standing and most men wouldn't go through the effort.

I am fine with this. Should advance equality in general in society and probably help normalize and improve female abuse problems in the military which are essentially at epidemic levels already.

As it should. Men should have rights to their children just as much as women do and the courts heavily favor the women in this regard. Luckily for me it turned out very even but I know that’s the exception not the rule.

Show me a man that can breast-feed and then I'll start to give a shit about the crap that comes out of your face.

I know quite a few working mothers that pump at work or have to make other accommodations when they travel. That has no bearing on how divorce or custody laws will change, as they should.

Eliminating a society structured around patriarchy will result in the dismantling of many structures currently in place, and perhaps some unintended consequences.

The point is that the sexes aren't treated equally in such proceedings because the sexes simply aren't equal when it comes to specific responsibilities. This isn't a "hahaha! dumb liberals want womens to be equal, then treat them just like men!" kinda gotcha, but an obvious reality of the world that also doesn't reject any kind of notion of fair and equal treatment. The world isn't black and white, and neither is the law.

Eliminating a society structured around patriarchy will result in the dismantling of many structures currently in place, and perhaps some unintended consequences.

So?

I'll take a matriarchal society any day over what we currently have. Women wouldn't start pointless wars just to prove who has the bigger dick.

Oh, I bet this will stop the rampant amount of guys getting sex changes to skip out on being drafted. I mean, after all, glenn claims that its rampant for guys to do that so they can pass PT.

That's the thing though, couldn't women argue that is exactly why they should not be forced to serve, that the military has a serious sexual assault issue?

But I'm not sure you realize how odd that sounds. "Women are being sexually assaulted at epidemic levels in the military. We should make it so women can be conscripted to serve!"

Hillary is a female of the human species, but I wouldn't call her a woman thou.

This post is a prime example of what happens when you play idiots' stupid games. I'm not sure what point you think you're making but you should just stop now because you're just going to get duped into trying to match their stupidity and its just letting them get their way in derailing the thread.

They could never bring me down to their IQ level. C'mon darkswordman17 I have fun fucking with the idiots, it's seldom that they actually answer my posts because they usually can't argue against them. I haven't even started with my asshole sarcasm yet.

He does have a point though. The more women in the military, the more they will take women's needs/rights into account. Also the more women will move up the ranks and can start pushing change. Men also become much more sexually aggressive in an absence of women. Getting more women into the workplace has definitely made companies much less sexist.

Hopefully there isn't actually a draft for a long time and the military cleans up their act towards women by then.
