Good point... I will stop posting in this thread too. I've said everything I wanted to say.

:D

Continue on! I got the answers I needed and this thread is pretty well derailed.

Tear it up guys.

Get a loan, coward!

I giggled.

If the government automatically signs me up for it before I get a chance to do so on my own accord, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of selective service?

Did you register to vote? If so then you registered int he SS

No, I still haven't registered to vote

Maybe if you're very lucky you'll manage to live a very long life and grow very old and decrepit and run out of money and find yourself lying in a bed in a state-run nursing home.

I'm glad you had the opportunity to bask in the glory of my post.

Maybe one day you will see things in shades other than black and white.

We'll accept "the world isn't black and white." For the record we also would have accepted "Who are you to judge me" and "It's my life to live as I see fit".

I wish this was in P&N...I think there would have been a lot more interesting options :)

Tried to come up with various ideas of how I could avoid getting shipped out to Iraq if they did start a draft and called my number. Luckily I never had to do anything.

Dont watch so much MTV,

Start watching real news instead of P-Diddy.

Grow up ftw.

LOL Real news? You mean that shit that's all controlled by the same people?

Giving into people like you, and letting ourselves get sucked into a pointless world of nationalism and machismo would be cowardice. Calling bullshit on this war and everyone who stands by it is not.

You're the one who needs to grow up, along with everyone like you.

You do realize what he said is true right? US as a nation will NOT sit around for another draft and yes we will have rioting going all around and draft cards will be burned. Also any politician that votes to reinstate draft will be committing suicide as he/she will be voted out of office ASAP.

I can't believe Americans still put up with the idea of selective service, it's wrong on so many levels. I mean, at least make women register; then you can 'randomly' not select any, or something.

that whooshing sound was my point going over your tiny head.

If you really thought there was going to be a draft in 2003 then you probably didnt have much of a grasp of things.

My point about MTV/p-diddy/real news kinda referring to the "Vote or Die" charade that had every kid believing if Bush was re-elected we were all gonna get drafted...

umm in case you missed it, Bush did get re-elected, and the draft didnt happen.

Quit your bitching! I registered twice! If I was drafted and died, they were going to revive me and send me back over again. Brains....

Seriously, you shouldn't go to jail if you don't register, but I sure as hell think you shouldn't get any government benefits until you do it. My state forces you to register if you want a driver's license, even if you can prove you already registered!

Check your state application again, i am guessing you can just check a box and they will not check your registration.

edit:Being that i can't register anymore, are you saying they would deny me dl if i moved to your state?

Better to be safe and not sign the thing than be sorry. It doesn't matter that the douche-bag didn't start the draft, what matters is that he could, and it's not cowardice to do everything in our power to stay out of it.

If you're under the age of 26, yes. It's only for people who are of eligible age. So if you're 27+, then you're ok. I think you can get around it at 16, but they probably have small writing that says they will submit your information when you turn 17. I had my card, but they said everyone has to register. Waste of resources. We let a draft dodger be president, but I can't get my driver's license without registering? That's some bullshit.

So I suppose you support selective taxes too?

I could just take your logic and say 'I dont support this douchebag, im not paying his taxes?'

Dieing in wars is not something I would like to be apart of.

As zemmervolt already mentioned...apparently you are in need of remedial spelling classes...too bad that you have to register for the draft if you want any federal student aid...

I don't know anyone who enlists with the goal of dying in a war.

Enlisting with the goal of legally killing people...yes.

"the goal of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other poor bastard die for his"

can't remember who said it.

No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.
George S. Patton

"Kill them all, let God sort them out."
