You assume to much and show you bias calling them nut jobs. Is anyone that protest was a nut job? Should they be investigated? Do you have proof that the FBI has info that they announced something? Most of the people coming forward with stories have no criminal background and are not radicals. If you like the fact that government agencies are harassing your fellow citizens because it somehow supports your man Bush, you are sick. I can't wait until the Democrats are in the White House and send the FBI to investigate all the anti-Kerry people who talk crap in web forums or go to a protest. This country is founded on freedoms, not just yours, but also views that differ from yours. If the KKK can march down main street, anti-Bush folks can too.

The ones that are talking about putting gun powder in their bags to disrupt the dogs...are nut jobs.

The ones that are going to break into hotels of the delegates...are nut jobs.

The ones that are going to create physical destruction...are nut jobs.

So are you saying these things are ok...that you as a Kerry supporter also support these things?

Anybody but Bush at any cost then, right?

I am all for beating people with billy clubs and using Tear gas or pepper spray on them.

It is odd that some people are professional protesters and they do it for a living.

They get paid to protest!
And horses, don't forget mounted police on horses! :p

Did the FBI interview any of these people? Were they arrested? Are you making up stuff? We will never know.

How many innocent, peaceful protesters should you harrase under the guise of finding these so called nut jobs? Would the same instruction come down from the Justice Dept. if it were not the RNC or Bush event?

It smells...

again, government investigatory apparatus being used to stymie political action (with no definite crime being investigated). This is not what the FBI is for.

Now that this is ok, maybe its ok to go a little bit further next time and make these suspected troublemakers register their movements. Now that its ok to subpoena some folks to testify before a grand jury to interrupt their planned demonstration, maybe its ok to just shortcircuit that next time and "detain" them at a police station for 2 or 4 or 7 or 9 or 13 or 15 or 17 days... This is an incremental erosion of the ideals this country was founded on. Go ahead & give it away if you think it serves your immediate political end, but don't deny its happening.

The thought police
They live inside of my head
The thought police
They come to me in my bed
The thought police
They're coming to arrest me
Oh no

You know that talk is cheap
And rumors ain't nice
And when I fall asleep
I don't think I'll survive

The night the night

'Cause they're waiting for me
Looking for me
Every single night
(They're) driving me insane
Those men inside my brain

The thought police
They live inside of my head
The thought police
They come to me in my bed

The thought police
They're coming to arrest me
Oh no

Well I don't tell lies
'Cause they're listening to me
And when I fall asleep
Bet they're spying on me tonight,
Tonight

'Cause they're waiting for me
Looking for me
Every single night
(They're) driving me insane
Those men inside my brain

I try to sleep
They're wide awake
They won't let me alone
They don't get paid to take vacations
Or let me alone
They spy on me
I try to hide
They won't let me alone
They persecute me
They're the judge and jury all in one

'Cause they're waiting for me
Looking for me
Every single night
(They're) driving me insane
Those men inside my brain

The thought police
They live inside of my head
The thought police they come

The thought police (police, police)

Personally, I cant think of anything worse than the FBI wanting to make sure protests not turn violent. I mean, in a free society we should be able to throw rocks, molatov cocktails, riot, loot, and overturn cars if we want. Damn Police State taking away our freedom!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

How about "innocent until proven guilty?" Is there a real threat here or is it (gasp) politcally motivated. Maybe the FBI's time could be better spent elsewhere then a simple anti-war demonstration? If it wer to get out of hand don't they have police for that sort of thing?

Is a "planned disruption" violent or will it just look bad on TV?

Although different, it reminds me of when Bush Sr. ran for President. The cat was already out of the bag about the S & L ripoff, but they managed to keep it out of the newspapers until after the election. Maybe they're afraid something they don't want out will come out?
