ti4600. I bought it for $80 off ebay as a used pull and that card lasted me a pretty damn long time.

At first it was just a 6800nu, but later I was able to unlock it. Throw in Purevideo, HDR, SM3.0 and now Transparency AA. I keep waiting for NVIDIA to come out with a patch to make it DirectX 10 Compliant. It's one thing to start out with a great card, it's another for it to keep getting better.

Worst card....I had a S3 that cut me when I was pulling it out of a case. :|

How is that Transparency AA working for you I have heard Dug777 have trouble with his.

I would have to say my favorite card is the one I have now, a 7800gt. Worked great, overclocked great, and was a blast to volt mod. It was more fun messing with this card then overclocking my A64 and I even had a great motherboard the LanParty NF4.

My favorite card was my old Radeon 9500 that I softmodded and OC'd past 9700 pro speeds. That thing ruled, and took anything I could throw at it for a few years. Can't say that I have a least favorite, though. Maybe the FX5200 in my brother's old computer, if that counts.

I sure did love my Voodoo2 card. My 6600GT is kinda nice too, though. Worst video card is much easier - I picked up one of the initial released Radeon's. Damn those drivers were piss poor, even freakin' scrolling through a text document in notepad was reduced to a horrible crawl. That was back in the Diablo II playing days. The Voodoo2 crushed the Radeon in performance, it wasn't even a fair comparison. That was some wasted money I wished I had back.

damn, I've own so many..hmmm where to start.

Umm my favorite would have to be my trusty Gigabyte GV-R9700PRO 128mb...how often do you get to use a video card for more than 3 years before it starts to show signs of being outdated and stuggling with games, I still have this card in my second PC and it runs Q4 and F.E.A.R pretty good at lower resolutions.

the worst one I have had hmmm I had a few crappy ones, but that would have to go to my Creative TNT2 M64 32mb...sure it ran Q3 OK but it was much slower than any other TNT2(it only had a 125/125mhz core/mem) and had horrible overheating problems.

second worst one I had was my old Trident TVGA 9000C 512kb in my 386DX40, very slow compared to my friends Tseng Labs ET4000AX's and S3 805's(which I upgraded to and was happy) it also had a lot of resolution problems and couldn't display 640x480 properly.

Same, here. I've own so many over the last 15 years, mostly budget cards with great bang for the buck.

My favorites:
* Voodoo3 1000 - This was a "special" version of the Voodoo3 with lass video memory, but performed about the same as a Voodoo3 2000, but was only $45!! amazing bang for buck.
*Radeon LE - This was a cheaper $65 version of the original $150 Radeon. All it needed was a BIOS update to turn into the regular Radeon. Another amazing bang for buck.

* My current X800GTO2, unlocked, overclocked. It's is a very nice card for the money, although things are changing so fast, there were better deals about 3 monthes after I got it. Still a great card, and ATI Tray Tools rocks.

* GeForce Ti4200 - Still have this card on my son's computer. It overclocked to Ti4400 speeds quite easily.

Worst Cards:
* Diamond Viper with Riva128ZX chipset. I decided to oay TOP DOLLAR for this card ($180 at the time) and it was not worth the money.

* Voodoo Rush - I got this card for free, and it still sucked. Possibly the worst video card ever.

Other cards I've owned or still own in various computers

Vesa Local Bus Diamond Stealth - Kicked butt when Doom first came out.
3dfx Banshee
GeForce 6600GT AGP (a bit disspointed by this card)
Radeon 8500LE - Great card for the money
Radeon 9200
Radeon 7000
Various S3's video cards from various vendors.

Favorites (in no particular order):
-9800Pro 256, flashed to XT
-9500 Pro, great OCer and Good performer
-7900GT (the one I have now) OC's like mad
-X1900XT (you can get them pretty cheap now, and one very good performer)

I know 2 of 3 are fairly modern cards, but I wasn't around here with all the older cards. But you can't deny that there good cards :)

Least Favorite (in to particular order) (and I havn't ownd any of them, except the 9600XT):
-7800GTX 512 (waste of money when 7900's came out)
-9600XT, slower then my 9500 Pro

The 6600GT is an OK card ( I had one for a few months) but nothing about it would make it a favorite. It didn't overclock all that well, or provide value beyond its price. Also, it came out at a bad time, when LCDs were just starting to get cheaper and more popular. IMO, the 6600GT is a little too weak to power 1280 x 1024 resolutions. That's why I got rid of my 6600GT. My X800GTO2, was a little cheaper than the price of my 6600GT, and ran circles around it once unlocked and overclocked.

I'm guessing the X1900AIW wouldn't be one of your least favorites if you had jumped in on that $150 ZZF deal last week ;)

6600GT. best value at its time...i think its one hell of a card.

but...my favorite card would have to be the 7800GTX. it was a pretty awesome next-gen (6 series to 7 series) card and it had one of the best coolers ive ever seen/heard.

It would be a tie between two cards that were the first of their kind:

Orchid Righteous 3D - the first 3dfx Voodoo card to hit the market. Diamond was only second with their Monster3D.
ATI 9700pro - the first DX9 card. Served me well for years.

G4MX IGP on the NF2. I sold many more systems based on that platform than anything before or since. What it was capable of, for IGP at the time, was excellent and it gave me a nice margin when combined with $50-$85 XP CPUs too.

Yeah, the NF2 IGP was an example of a good budget integrated solution IMO. It couldn't do dx8, but it had enough horsepower to run most games very well in dx7 mode. And I think if you're building a budget part you should have more speed, not more features. Since most people just want to play games at a reasonable framerate, not watch a pretty slideshow (fx5200 springs to mind),

The Geforce4 ti4200 128mb and ati 9700pro were easily the videocards that inspired the most satisfaction in me,..Which is as they were back to back one year from one another.

The first video card I bought standalone as an upgrade was my Voodoo 5500 mac edition in 2000, then I got a ATI 7500 for my first pc in 2001, then the ti4200 in 2002, then a 9700pro a year later.....6800GT in 2004 and 7800GTX and SLI in 2005.

my fav, when i first built my first comp, radeon 9700 pro....RIP(paid like 200 for it). i had a voodoo 2 pci at one time, and a voodoo 3 agp. then i got my 9700. now im runnin the x1900xt....i enjoy it, but my fav was my 9700 pro on passive cooling i had all panaflo's running decent air and a barton 3200 with the slk-900U by thermalright, bolt on copper heatsink, average temps were in the mid 30's and load was 40's. silent computer, you couldnt hear the thing over a small fan.
