Yep he did the music for Guild Wars, and I really enjoyed hearing that.

Personally, Killzone 2's soundtrack is really surprising me. Orchestral-heavy, bombastic, and very sweeping at all the right moments. Generally it just kind of there and adds a layer to the action, almost making it like a battlefield drum, inspiring you to move faster or shoot more.
But at times, it just puts me in awe, pretty powerful. :)

But man... I'm having trouble recalling what games would be my favorite for soundtrack. Usually I really enjoy it while I'm playing it, but I kind of forget exactly how much I enjoyed it once I haven't played a game in awhile.

I remember Final Fantasy VIII was pretty enjoyable, iirc. And FFX had some great tracks.
Xenosaga Ep 1 was just awesome, in every way, and I'm pretty sure the music was apart of that awesomeness.

Metal Gear Solid 4, I think, had some great tracks.

the Halo 3 opening track (menu screen) always gets me, sounds epic. And the end-game track has that nice touch to it.

So many, I cannot feasibly name only one, sorry, thus I will name my all time favorites, in no particular order of preference (they'd all be on the highest step of the podium in my book):

- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Shadow Man
- Turok 2: Seeds of Evil
- Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
- Rome: Total War
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
- Jet Force Gemini
- Perfect Dark
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Crysis
- Star Fox
- Killer Instinct
- The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II
- Half-Life 2: Episode Two

And many others, but those are really memorable, for me that is.

Plenty of favourites, I'm afraid there isn't just one. Let's say 3:

- Baldur's Gate I and II (espeically reading Viconia's dialogues and listening to that tune )
- System Shock 2 (amazing sounds!)
- WH40k: Chaos Gate (old game, some amazing tracks)

Okay, that was 4, whatever :p

The main theme from Oblivion with the horns was excellent, but I thought everything else was kinda generic.

I'd add Space Empires V on PC and Castlevania II on the NES to the list.

I think the soundtrack from Deus Ex is pretty awesome, specially the track called "The Synapse" (Hong Kong Streets).

Anybody here likes the music which plays during the Far Cry menu...I dunno the name of the track though.

I used to play the Quake soundtrack and the Mech Warrior 2 soundtrack in my CD player when I was in Highschool. (They used Redbook audio back then, so you could just pop the game CD in and play it)

I haven't done that since, but my favorite soundtrack was probably C&C: Red Alert. I loved Hellmarch, and I actually included it in some of the Mixed CD's I made.

EDIT: Oh yeah! I did purchase 7/11: the soundtrack to 7th Guest and 11th Hour recently. I remember loving Mr. Death, and the Big Outro, but after listening to the music again it isn't as good as I remember.

EDIT 2: One more. Jets N' Guns has a kick ass soundtrack. The intro is the best intro on any game.

Yes, I forgot that on my list! Old school Street Fighter II though...the music in SF4 is forgettable at best.

Well that J-Pop music is horrid, yeah. But some of the remixes sound pretty good to me. And then there's that music they had in the trailers. That was good. Waiting for SF4 to come out for PC, so I can't say much more.
