To be fair, it's all about Sim Tower.

Refresh my memory, but didn't SimTower have major bugs that prevented making large towers?

I voted for SimCity 2000. It wasn't overly complicated like SimCity 4, and it stands the test of time pretty well. It also had the benefit of being compatible with SimCopter and Streets of SimCity, which were pretty good for the time period.

You can get an updated version which doesn't, you can go all the way upto 102 floors or whatever quite happily 🙂

Definitely 2000! I got that back when I had my 486 and I bought the DOS version that came on floppies! Damn that was sweet! It was my first addiction to any PC game. My mom always commented on my blood-shot eyes. 😉 Eventually that problem went away after time...

All in all, Sim Farm was definitely my favorite Sim EVAR! It was one that was so different and so interesting. I still have the boxes and floppies for them, too!

Disclaimer: Despite the fact I live in North Dakota, I have no aspirations of becoming a real farmer!

It's really small and simplistic but yet so much fun.

Yes its great except:
1. You cant demolish security centers
2. You cant demolish laundry places
3. If you build on basement 10 your fubarred as you cannot place a subway anymore

Just have to be careful.

2000 had a easy to use intereface and the graphics were not so buggy as Sim City 4 which could make any PC bend to its knees. Sim City also seems pretty limited in what you could do with the scale of the city.

I liked 3000 the most. 2000 was okay but the city map was too small for a sprawling city. Not a fan of 4, too much micromanagement.

SimCity 4 is the fav here, but like others have said, there is a lot of micromanagement to deal with. at least its better than the sims 2, i really like the game, but get bored with it very quickly. theres so much to do in it. simtower is a good game, too, although an older one at that. i cant sit down and play simtower as long as i can simcity 4. all day sessions are not all that uncommon 😛

i just bought sim city 4 and the maps seem kind of small once you get all your gifts and stuff planted, there isn't a whole lot of room for zones after that

i started using the london region and it has a HUGE plot of land, just figured i'd let others know, but is there a way to get big plots of land with out using some premade region?

There's a couple of other bugs, just save enough times so you don't f*ck up 🙂
