Where's is the...... pole?

You sir, win the thread

Hmm.. Why is that, exactly??
I think I already lost that cute medical report my doctor gave me, but those three items somehow contribute to excess buildup of calcium deposits in the kidneys. Its not like overdosing on cashews witll magically give you stones, but its a contributing factor if you are already a stone-maker.

Did I miss something? Oh right, Pistachios!

Too bad they are so god damn fucking expensive 🙁

Cashews first, close second pistachios, close third macadamias, furhter behind are almods and peanuts, then sunflowers, and hazelnuts are not really good or bad. Can't stand brazil, pecan, walnit.

Funny enough I ran across this thread munding on a price club thing of macadamia chocolate caramel clusters. Recommended.

I like coated almonds too, like rasberry and orange and honey.

I like different nuts in different forms:

Peanuts - Excellent by themselves, roasted and salted. Peanut butter makes everything better.
Cashews - Not a big fan of these.
Pistachios - Never had them.
Macadamia - Never had them by themselves. Delicious in cookies.
Pecans - Pretty good by themselves and in pie.
Hazelnuts - Never had them by themselves. Good "flavor additive."
Brazil nuts - Never had them.
Almonds - Excellent by themselves or covered in chocolate. I can't stop eating them.
Sunflower seeds - Good to chew on for some salty flavor.

I enjoy all kinds of nuts. Don't really like pistachios though.

If I had to pick one favorite, then probably pecans.

I'm not a big fan of pistachios either. I can eat them...but only a few. My wife loves them though. Natural ones, not the red dyed variety.

One of the benefits of living in Kahleeforneeya is all the fruit & nut stands scattered around. You can buy fresh almonds, walnuts, and pistachios during the harvest season...usually VERY cheaply by comparison to store prices.

My subdivision is the last one going out of town. Less than 1/2 mile from my house are almond ranches...thousands of acres of almonds, which bring the added benefit of sweet smelling air this time of year when the trees are in blossom.

Of course, there are also hundreds of acres of peaches nearby, a few acres of apricots, lots and lots of acres of walnuts too.

We have to drive down near Fresno for the pistachios.

Poll should be favorite seed. Almost the entire list is filled with seeds. If I had to choose, I'd pick peanuts because peanut butter (smooth, of course) is amazing. Macadamia is also tolerable in a freshly baked cookie. As for the rest of them? Blech. I don't know how people can stand seeds/nuts.
