The BoB Bastogne episode has been mentioned a couple of times now. I was recently in the area and decided to drive down and have a look. The city is enormously pro-American, there are tributes all over the city, there is a nice memorial and a museum exhibit that has a section that recreates the environment and atmosphere of the battle of the bulge, with trees all over, loud artillery and dense fog. Afterwards, I visited a US Army cemetery in Belgium, the sheer number of gravesites instantly brings a tear to the eye. Very emotional place.
and yet....somehow...90% of American's remain decidedly anti-French...😕
You do realize Bastogne \= french.

The opening scene in Top Gun with the F-14s flying and landing on the carrier.
Just plain awesome, I guess all you younger guys don?t realize how great of an opening it was for its time.
Top Gun
Any moment in Patton
Tora Tora Tora!
Really gives you an idea of how the Japanese were able to pull it off.
And then all others everyone else has mentioned.
Aliens if we include science fiction, some great moments. "Game over man!"

The 90s generation had Independence Day
My generation had Top Gun.
Pretty much explains it. Lots of fun, great action, just enough kissing to keep the females interested and above all don?t take it too seriously.

are you also suggesting that the town of Bastogne is representative of the whole of France?
Not really a movie, more a mini-series, but Sharpe's Waterloo is one of the best in the series. The final scene when Sharpe rallies the men and holds their ground against the Imperial Guards, then marches forward.
Also, Talavera where Sharpe captures the French Eagle is another great one. Overall, the entire series had great scenes, but due to budget, most of them only have about 50 or less soldiers at a time. Waterloo/Talavera seemed to have at least a hundred per side.

That shot in Transformers where the camera was behind the AC-130 gunship as it was pounding the scorpion guy on the ground. That was pure badassery.
i dont know, that was difficult to believe for me that they could accurately hit that target while moving in the air with US troops just 20 feet away.
Speaking of that, I recall in the movie "Waterloo" some pretty cool scenes, in particular the one where the French Cavalry charge the British squares. I'll have to see if I can find a clip of that somewhere....
