<< It's sort of like Italian pasta. My (Italian) friend gave me her recipe and some home-canned tomatoes. I just followed the recipe and I was amazed at the difference in taste compared to the usual schtuff >>

yeah I've heard that also. Alot of those bastardized pasta houses like Olive Garden are supposed to be really far off from real italian food. If someone wants to give me pointers for a good real italian place in the LA area, I'd appreciate it. :)

StickHead,

How dense do you think everyone here is? No one will get it? Yeah, and no one will get Cream of Sum Yung Gai, either.

Pfft to you and your bad punnery.

Nevermind, I don't know why I bother with Off Topic. How come I never see you in the Motherboards forum?

Some of my favorites:

1) Moo Shoo Beef w/pancakes and plum sauce - yum yum.
2) General Tso's Chicken

I'll have to stay away from the Hunan Chicken for a while. The last time I had it, there were so many red pepper flakes mixed in that I nearly got blisters in my mouth.

Phew! Bitter Melon? Man, somebody here has a strong gut. That stuff is eeeiiiiaaahhhhhhgggghhh! Makes me cringe just thinkin' about it. I can't say that I hate the stuff 100% but 99% is about right. I'd be very suprised to find a dish that actually tasted good.

Sweet and Sour Soup followed with Szechuan Green Beans, extra spicey.

Oh, yum, turkey sounds like dreck right now!
