Favorite band of the 90's

What the fuck? Many of the bands listed in this thread formed in the 80's:

Nine Inch Nails
RHCP
Stone Temple Pilots
Sound Garden
Nirvana
Alice in Chains
The Black Crowes
Smashing Pumpkins
Radiohead
Pantera
Deftones
Blind Melon
Coroner
311
etc

Or did you mean bands that were active throughout the 90's? Because that would change the scope of this thread entirely.

Blind Melon is totally a 90's band. Would you call Iron Maiden a 70's band or Black Sabbath a 60's band? The point is that the bands released their best or most popular material in the 90's, especially if the 90's is known for them. Black Hole Sun is a definitive 90's song, and maybe 1% of Soundgarden fans give a shit about their 80's output. Or Pantera's early 80's cock rock.

So is this now about our favourite 90's songs? Because that also changes the scope of this thread.

I didn't say that. My point is that "favorite band of the 90's" is better defined as bands that are known for their 90's output, rather than from whatever decade they formed in (which no one cares about). Everyone knows this.

Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, or 311. I just bought a 311 CD last month.

I think I'm Pearl Jammed out. Years and years of them being played over and over (SiriusXM is horrible about this) makes me change the channel even though I like them. I need a 5 year break.

I liked the ones you listed a lot. I stopped listening to pearl jam when the vitolagy album came out,I'm just now starting to get back into them.
