favorite 80's memory?

Start of the eighties: Getting to retire my leg braces and being free to walk around unencumbered for the first time in three years.

Collecting beer cans. That was back when you could still find the old steel cans. Aluminum cans look like ass in comparison.

walking into the local pizza hut, smelling the pizza cooking, sitting down and playing bubble bobble for hours on end.

Discovering computer and video games.

They have certainly helped make me the unambitious, procrastinating, and overall lazy person I am today.

I'm disappointed... nobody picked the obvious geeky answer, and choose an actual memory technology from the 1980's.

I guess that all the uber-nerds have all migrated back to Slashdot 🙂

1984.

Madonna appears on the radio for the first time.
Springsteen hits it big with Born in the USA
Bananarama Cruel Summer
Footloose
Cyndi Lauper
1984, Van Halen.
Purple Rain
Wham!
Tears for Fears
Thompson Twins
Duran Duran

1984 was probably the high point for 80s music.

I vote for 1985.

The entire summer of '86...when I was not at work in a greasy spoon washing dishes I was either high, drunk or both every damn day. No bills, no worries, still living at home, did not give a shit about anything.....*sigh*
